Awesome news. Only a matter of time and these guys aren't the types who will keep their mouths shut to protect their friends. Many of them will sing like Tweetie-bird when the time comes.

This is what i found.June 3, 2011 7:02 PM PDT. Sony confirms Lulzsec compromised server data. Sony Pictures tonight confirmed that some of its Web sites were breached yesterday. In a joint statement, Sony Pictures Chairman and CEO Michael Lynton and Co-chairman Amy Pascal said the company has contacted the FBI in an attempt to find out who was behind the cyberattack. Yesterday a group of hackers calling themselves Lulzsec brashly taunted Sony on Twitter saying it would "embarrass" the company by posting data stolen from the company's servers. Several hours later the group posted online 150,000 people's passwords, names, e-mail addresses, addresses, and phone numbers from SonyPictures.com and Sony BMG's Web sites in Belgium and the Netherlands.http://news.cnet.com/8301-31021_3-20068857-260/sony-confirms-lulzsec-compromised-server-data/

That kid arrested today, Ryan Cleary, was not a LulzSec mastermind. He mostly just ran a chat service for Anonymous off his computer. But he and other Anonymous began feuding. He posted private info of Anon users he disliked. They posted his personal name and other info. And SURPRISE, the police showed up on his doorstep.

    :D

btw there are new hacker groups that don't like LulzSec and Anonymous. They are using the same techniques those groups used but use them on the hackers. And they are publishing what info they find. Groups like LulzSec Exposed, and Backtrace Security.

NYT: F.B.I. seizes web servers, knocks sites offline - Technology & science - The New York Times - msnbc.com

"It is not clear what the F.B.I. was looking for, or whether the raid was in response to recent attacks by hacker groups on corporate and government sites.

A government official who declined to be named said earlier in the day that the F.B.I. was actively investigating the Lulz Security group and any affiliated hackers. The official said the F.B.I. had teamed up with other agencies in this effort, including the Central Intelligence Agency and cybercrime bureaus in Europe."

it gets better too. LulzSec was upset that two of it's own published that Ryan's kid's private info. So they in turn exposed those two stool pigeons. And implicated them with the SquareEnix hacking.

LulzSec says it's outing two who may have led to arrest of an alleged hacker - latimes.com

I hope the feds can get those two to squeal. :D

    Here's what they posted:

LulzSec leader had not left his home for four years - Mother

A UK paper by the name of the Daily Mail has managed to obtain a variety of pictures relating to the 19 year old arrested LulzSec leader Ryan Cleary. The pictures show his bedroom, him aged 13 (which is a pretty silly picture them to show) and some shots of his family. The piece also reveals more on the mastermind hacker, such as how he comes from a pretty normal family and only came out of his bedroom to go pee. Pictured is the room of the hacker. His mother noted that he is a complete recluse and would rarely leave his room. While his brother noted that the two are completely different. While incredibly talented, the teenager is reportedly very troubled, having been excluded from school at the age of just five years old.http://www.maxconsole.net/content.p...-had-not-left-his-home-for-four-years-Mother&

UK Police Charge Hacker Linked to LulzSec

** Authorities in the U.K. today charged a 19-year-old with using a botnet he controlled to take down the Web site of a national police unit. The charges filed against Ryan Cleary followed his arrest Monday by the Metropolitan Police Central e-Crime Unit. One security expert said Cleary's arrest, and the seizure of his computers, may lead authorities to members of LulzSec, the group that claimed responsibility earlier this week for taking down the Web site of the U.K.'s Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA).SOCA is responsible for, among other things, major computer crime investigations in the U.K.Cleary, of Wickford, Essex, has been linked to both LulzSec and Anonymous, hacker crews that have used distributed-denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks to knock government and business sites offline.http://www.pcworld.com/article/230935/uk_police_charge_hacker_linked_to_lulzsec.html

Sony accused of laying off security staff prior to PSN breach

Sony laid off a number of staff responsible for the security of its users? data just before the April PSN breach occurred, a class action lawsuit filed in a San Diego federal court this Monday alleges. While ?lavishly? protecting its corporate data with firewalls and other measures, the same was apparently not done for the information of its customers.Sony lost the account information of 77 million of its PSN and Qriocity users as a result of the hacks, with the whole drama costing the giant over $170 million. Sony has said it may never know what exactly was stolen. The company is said to also have fired a ?a substantial percentage? of its Sony Online Entertainment workforce, ?a number? of them from its Network Operations Centre.SOE fell victim to a data breach as well; close to 25 million user accounts were compromised.http://www.thatvideogameblog.com/20...aying-off-security-staff-prior-to-psn-breach/

Sony boss Stringer: We were hacked because we tried to protect our IP

There was a shareholders? meeting at Sony in Tokyo yesterday, where Sony CEO Howard Stringer had to face down tough questions about the PSN downtime and theft of user data in April and May, caused by hacker attacks. Some at the meeting even called for his resignation.Stringer brushed off the attacks on his position, claiming that the hacks were a result of Sony trying to protect itself against piracy: ?We believe that we first became the subject of attack because we tried to protect our IP, our content, in this case videogames. These are our corporate assets, and there are those that don?t want us to protect them, they want everything to be free.

Deus Ex hackers to suffer consequences for theft

In late May, hackers decided it would be fun to grab an early version of upcoming first-person shooter Deus Ex: Human Revolutionas part of their own human revolution. Only, the plan backfired because Square Enix has been on the hunt for the intruders and as it turns out, has found fifteen Italian nationals who are all believed to be involved in the theft.Square Enix claimed the Italians gained access to the restricted material using log in details of Italian games magazine GMC, ensuring access to the company?s servers. Once inside, they grabbed the preview build of the game and released it on torrent sites, a crime for which the fifteen are being taken to court to be held responsible for their actions due to copyright infringement as well as damages ?in excess of $5000,? according to claims.

LulzSec Has Fun with The Sun, Declares Rupert Murdoch Dead

LulzSec Has Fun with The Sun, Declares Rupert Murdoch Dead
*Hacking group LulzSec is back at it. Only weeks after the group announced its retirement, LulzSec took to the Internets once again, this time targeting The Sun, one of Rupert Murdoch?s publications. The hack redirected vistors to The Sun to a hoax article stating Rupert Murdoch had been found dead, allegedly the victim of Palladium overdoes. The article was written in a humorous fashion, quoting Murdoch?s butler and going into detail how his body was found in his garden.

This is seriously getting out of hand. Do these people have something against those who simply want to enjoy on-line gaming!? I mean really, c'mon. First it was Sony, now all this!? I think these hackers (and this is simply my personal opinion) are nothing more than a bunch of losers who probably got served some piping-hot butt whoopin' one too many times playing an online game such as C.O.D., MW2, SSF4, etc. So now they feel like striking back by hacking into all of these game servers, and other classifed systems just to have the last laugh just because they are sore losers. Again, just saying that's my opinion. :pissed::rifle::shit:

Kim Jong-il has hackers farming MMOs for in-game coin (and, we assume, Aviators)

    The Hacks continue, Jun 15, 2011, 2:22 PM, YourPSHome.net, 3019
It all makes sense now -- North Korea's infamously deluded dictator, Kim Jong-il, wants to be king of the castle in NCsoft's MMO Lineage, completely explaining his fetishes for extravagance and naked discos. Kim has hired a team of hackers to farm Asian MMOs for in-game coin, which they sell online for cash IRL, according to South Korean officials. Kim's hackers hail from North and South Korea, and work with operatives in Northern China, four of which were arrested last week in Seoul for organizing a hacking squad of 30 people, authorities said. In less than two years, the organizers made $6 million, 55 percent of which went to the hackers, and some of that to Kim's agents in Pyongyang, Seoul police said.
