This is just a theory, I think the rares occurs because the VR rep (probably VRkuroshio_home7) is in stealth mode and automatically been moving around instances with a program that is outside of the Home servers. A few hints: 1. During the last hour for the stingray yesterday, we saw VRkuroshio_home7 at the instance, and when the VR rep went away, the rare fish went away also. This shows that the VR reps triggers the rare fish to appear. 2. Last week, there was a day when VRkuroshio_home7 was in home till 21:00 JST and the barracuda was there. 3. The rare fish only occurs at 1 instance during the off hours of 21:00-09:00 JST. 4. There seems to be a few seconds off at the hour when the blackout occurs for the rare fishes appears and disappears. Each 3 hours a blackout occurs and the content of the aquarium changes, but when both the content and rare fish blackout there are about 2 blackouts occurring. Which could mean that the automatic program for the VR rep is outside from the Home program. 5. Rares doesn't occur at private instances. There may be a few more points, but these are the main ones that come up from top of my head. I was kind of suspicious that the blackout wasn't constant if it was a program running through the Home servers. It is possible that they programmed that way, but why? So I thought my theory makes more sense. It could be totally wrong though
I wouldn't be surprised if that is the case. I always knew the VRs were involved somehow, I just can't prove anything I'm guessing once the VR event is over in Japan then all of the rare fish will have fixed time blocks. Maybe it'll be easier then for some people.

Note: I believe right now the only way for the Barracuda and Black Tip shark to appear is if there is a VR Account in the instance. When you load into the Aquarium, check the list of users there for the VR user name.
Those were a limited time reward from Christmas '09. I missed them too, along with a majority of the other holiday rewards from that year, wasn't as active in other regions at the time and wasn't willing to stay up at those times for the events, then again you could have supposedly parked yourself there and still got rewarded lol.

I think this is a good theory. It may be that someone who works for Home in SCEJ was testing something in the space or maybe collecting screenshots and did not want to be hassled by us.
Carla, is it possible that the space is looking for a user id when it makes the rare fish appear? Or is it an item that VR_KH has that is triggering it? I know in the past we could buy avatar items in japan that allowed us to gift others. I'm wondering if VR works on the same principal. If so, I hope they sell whatever is triggering it. Has anyone noticed if the female VRKH is triggering one rare while the male does another?
