You will find the next gen stuff will be 3d using the same operating system as ps3 meaning complete backwards compatability, games consoles currently graphic wise are running to full hd as much as any tv can take, sound wise the same, augmented reality is years away yet, so if your a console designer next best thing is 3d.
The only thing i think they'll transfer is games DLC & that's if Sony decides the PS4 is backwards compatible
the problem with the idea that sony would NEVER include your ps3 home purchases to a PS4 home is they gave up on PS2 compatibility, I can't play my library of ps3 games on any new system. Back when I got the ps2 games I too would never have believed they wouldn't support them in a ps3. They did for awhile, but slowly phased it out. I expect them to do the same with all our Home purchases when ps4 comes out. Home will work for the next 4-5 years. But after that, I'm not expecting much. Maybe a slow fade to obscurity as something new replaces it.
