That July 15 date might be just one of many ways, but I think I'd be remiss if I didn't mention what just occurred. On another (emergency) account I had set up in EU I've just finished fishing. I set the PS3's internal date to July 15 and 17:30 hours, within 3 in and outs I saw and caught the catfish. Changed the time to noon and after a dozen or so in and outs got the piranha. Changed the time to midnight and consciously started counting to be more sure. Counted all the way to two (I can go higher, as I've already shown) and snagged the marlin. Sheer coincidence? I'll take that coincidence any day -- as long as that day is July 15. :shades_smile:
Sounds good to me. As long as changing the date doesn't disqualify me from getting them all, then I believe that any tips are good tips even if they aren't necessary. Although, I saw the Marlin today at 23:15 7/1/2011 and the only other time I saw it was between 9 and 11 o'clock in the morning after the update? Today I used the Big Daddy with the green worm and he did not like it. I will have to try for him another day. ;D Oh, and those other 2 illusive fishes.
I'm glad it worked for you, really. Still I think its pure random I've had lots of piranhas, I even got 3 of them at once one time, and all passing by the bait but none biting it :S almost broke my dualshock so pissed I was LOL
3 at once? Are you sure you've spotted the right fish? I only ask as I've only ever seen one of the legendary in a single game.
Yes I'm sure, big one, head red, tail black, kinda 50-50 when it comes to colors big teeth showing bad boy looking face LOL I'm pretty sure it was it.
wow that's a shame you couldn't capture them, as you could of got an awesome score as they weigh 100 pound each. I'm not sure what to suggest, for me the hardest part was making them appear, sorry.

well i think the big fish are random cause this morning around 4am my time i started to fish and the marlin was in almost every i played ( though at the time didn't have the rod to catch him lol ). but the first one i catch was the piranha and didn't have to change the time on my ps3 to get him. but i did for the marlin and cat fish lol .

Just the Marlin left to go for me. Never even seen it but am following the helpful tips with interest. I'll keep trying July 15th. When you say midnight though, that's kind of a boundary between days, so is it midnight at the start or end of July 15th? I'm guessing start?
I catched the marlin today (3 July) at around 23:55 :blink: I originally wanted to catch the piranha, but instead the marlin appeared... Weird... I think I'll try it with noon for the piranha now... Edit: Yeah! Noon worked for me to get the piranha! :clap:
I doubt that the date matters. I saw the marlin a couple times while trying different hours to spot the catfish. The late-night time seems to be the important part.
