At the recent Gamelab conference in Barcelona, Konami showed off an early concept video that demonstrates what Simon would have looked like had he been the star of the game. Our First Glimpse of Battlefield 3's New Battlelog System Track what friends are doing, chat with other players, check out stats, and more. Just as the Call of Duty series is getting free social networking features with Call of Duty Elite (the beta of which begins today), Battlefield 3 will bring with it something similar in Battlelog. As announced during E3, Battlelog provides players with a place to check out statistics, track unlocks and awards, communicate with other players, and so on. The German Battlefield blog seems to have jumped the gun by posting several pictures of Battlelog from an alpha trial version. Why Television Hates Video Games Proof that the TV industry despises games. Gamers are unemployed, maladjusted weirdoes who live in their parents' basements and never see the light of day -- or so most portrayals of video games on TV would have you believe. It seems that the entire medium of television doesn't get games. Maybe it's because Baby Boomer TV producers are lashing out against their biggest competition as their own networks become increasingly irrelevant by the day. Or possibly, they're just too old to understand. It could be, perhaps, that their shoes are too tight. Or it could be that their heads aren't screwed on just right. Call of Duty Elite Beta Begins july 14th, Here's What You Need to Know Get your copy of Black Ops ready and check your e-mail inbox tomorrow.The beta test for Call of Duty Elite kicks off tomorrow. At some point during the day, the first batch of invites will be sent out by e-mail to those who registered to participate. The initial group will be "very small," according to Activision's Dan Amrich, and just because no invite shows up by day's end doesn't mean you won't get to participate. Parasite Eve II to Soon Round Out the Series on PSN An ESRB listing suggests the game is to be released as a PS1 Classic The first Parasite Eve title in more than a decade, The 3rd Birthday, came out earlier this year on PlayStation Portable. Shortly before that, the original Parasite Eve was released as a PS1 Classic in February. Now it's only a matter of time before its sequel is re-released in the same fashion. A listing for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable versions of Parasite Eve II have been found on the ESRB's website, indicating a PS1 Classics release is in the works. Rift?s 1.4 patch to add cross-server play In an effort to create a better gaming*experience*for Riftplayers, Trion is bringing forward a cross-server feature or ? to use the game?s native lingo ? cross-shard feature. What this does is not all that different to the similar feature found in World of Warcraft.Players will be able to enter a queue for dungeons with players across servers within their battlegroup.
