Answering a 'Question of the Week' from a colour blind fan on its blog, Michael Condrey, VP and COO of Sledgehammer confirmed that, like Black Ops, Modern Warfare 3 would indeed support the needs of colour blind players."Research suggests that as much as 6% of the general population suffers from Color Blindness, or more accurately Colour Vision Deficiency. Men (9-12%) are 20x more likely to be afflicted than women (0.25-1%). Limbo on PSN, PC dated; soundtrack available, extra secret teased Last week, that hauntingly good Xbox Live Arcade title,*Limbo,*was confirmed for a PlayStation Network release*via a Twitter post from Dino Patti, founder of the game?s developer PlayDead Studios. Now, Patti?s went all out ? with far more than 140 characters ? to detail the game?s arrival on the Sony console, the game?s soundtrack on iTunes, and even teasing something special within the game.Patti says Limbowill be available on PSN starting July 19 for those in the US and the following day, July 20, for members in Europe. Space Invaders movie incoming So while everyone?s wanting to see Unchartedor Mass Effect movies, it seems some Hollywood producers are more interested in gaming?s oldies getting a slice of the adaptation pie. Case in point: Space Invaders.Lorenzo di Bonaventura, and Gigi Pritzker are the driving force behind this out-of-nowhere adaptation. di Bonaventura is treading comfortable waters having been a producer for recent film versions of other 80?s pop culture staples G.I. Joeand*Transformers. Pritzker is part of production company Odd Lot Entertainment, and is the producer for the upcoming Ender?s Gamefilm, an adaptation of Orson Scott Card?s space sci-fi novel. EA buys up PopCap Feel the ground shaking beneath your feet? That?s the cause of the deal struck between publishing giant EA and social games publisher PopCap today. That is to say EA now owns PopCap.The publisher spent a cool $650 million on the deal, along with another $100 million in stock & multi-year earn-out. What does it all mean, you ask? Basically Plants vs. Zombies, Zuma, Peggle, Bejewledand a bunch of other gigantic franchises are now all under EA?s wing. Thanks to NetherRealm Studios PSN & Live we get incomplete games or games with less content for $60.00, DLC is being abused & they try to milk each gamer with it. I say keep your MK9 DLC characters, in fact keep your MK9 DLC period!!! With the content in games without DLC it's only worth getting when the price drops.

Disaster Report Dev Wants to Shake Things Up The Disaster Report series, known as Zettai Zetsumei Toshi in Japan, is an action-adventure franchise that focuses on characters trying to survive in a city ravaged by a natural disaster. The fourth installment of the game was originally planned to release on March 10, 2011, which was the day before the Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami. Due to slow development, the game was pushed back to a later release date but was cancelled on March 14th, after the earthquake hit. The creator of the franchise, Kazuma Kujo, must have thought it was a little tactless to release a game about surviving a natural disaster after such a devastating tsunami hit Japan. Apparently, time heals wounds rather quickly. A fan tweeted to Kujo that he would like the Disaster Report series to be revived. Kujo replied that he was taking actions to revive the series. All three of the previous Disaster Report titles were developed and published under Kujo while he was at Irem studios. Kujo left Irem in May to form Granzella Studios. Although Kujo shows enthusiasm for bringing back the series, Irem has published all the previous titles, so Kujo would have to acquire the franchise from them. If Irem is unwilling to give up the franchise, then that might kill all plans for a sequel. Fans will just have to wait and see if Kujo is able bring back Disaster Report 4. "The difficulty level is on the high side, but get into the rhythm and you'll find finishing a challenge comes naturally after a while, which feels really great. Early Super Mario Bros. Script Reveals a Bruce Willis Die Hard Cameo Two new scripts have emerged, though neither contains any "yippie-kai-yay"-ing. The Super Mario Bros.film, released in 1993, wasn't particularly good. Starring Bob Hoskins, John Leguizamo, and Dennis Hopper, it wasn't well received at the time and, generally speaking, still isn't considered much better today. Prior to passing away in 2010, Hopper had even stated how he regretted doing the movie. Things didn't have to turn out the way they did (1UP took an in-depth look at it last year), and the script that ended up being used wasn't the only one that was written. Fan site Super Mario Bros. New PS3 Model Requires HDMI for HD Blu-ray Playback, But Not HD Gaming You can thank the AACS Final Adopter Agreement for the new requirement. Despite what was initially suggested in a leaked memo sent to GameStop stores yesterday, the new model of PlayStation 3 will not require owners to use an HDMI cable to play games in high definition. A picture of the memo, as obtained by Kotaku, said that a new PS3 SKU using the "K" chassis would begin shipping this week. The most important change that employees needed to be aware of was their reliance on HDMI cables for HD output. The memo stated, "The 'K' systems will come with a AV cable, however, if you want to play a game or watch a movie in high definition you must use a HDMI cable. Component cables will no longer be able to transmit a high def picture. Army of Two, Skate, and Other EA Games Lose Online Play Soon You've got less than a month to play Battlefield 2142's PC demo or Army of Two online. Electronic Arts has published a list of 17 titles, primarily for consoles, that will be losing their online functionality next month, including Battlefield 2: Modern Combat, Army of Two, and Skate. The decision to do this is made when an extremely small number of players continue to actively play any given game. As the Online Service Updates page puts it, "The decisions to retire older EA games are never easy.
