I hope that is just a rumor but it wouldn't really surprise me if it wasn't they better put the companion in the store though ether way.
I talked to the tech guy who services my email accounts. And he did a search for me and told me none of the missing codes were even sent to me. The first Facebook accounts I used did not get codes. Only the later ones. I can understand now why it was taking so long for the codes to be sent out. They probably knew they didn't have enough codes. And were delaying sending them in hopes an answer could be found. Hopefully they will issue out more codes. This is not good news for the launch of deus ex. I read that packages of deus ex were opened by gamestop because they wanted to remove coupons inside the box that helped a competitor. Then they resealed the box and sold them as new.
Yeah I agree. Even as a reward collector I don't care about the exclusitivity of this item right now, it just irritates me to see promotions run half-assed like this. I rather have no promotion at all than a half-ass managed promotion. If Eidos Montreal had any right mind they'll put the companion up for sale in the Mall. Now I feel bad too because I just recently bought the Adam Jensen jacket and glasses. Shouldn't really be supporting them but those items were just so damn fine lol.
What I don't understand is, it was stated they would give every participant either a Home companion or an Avatar prop item. Would have rather them been upfront and said they had so many than be misleading :/ And, is that what happened? I heard something happened Gamestop and PC versions of Deus Ex but I never really looked into it. That's crazy...shame on Gamestop...
Here is a crazy idea. This is sheer unfounded speculation. But what if they realized they didn't have enough codes. It would make sense that they would give them to the users with the most points. That's just a wild conjecture on my part. But if they did, then our early accounts would be at a disadvantage. Cause when I used most of my accounts, it was when qr scans were only worth 10 pts each. So even scanning every code, I would have less than the thousands of noobs that signed up after they made each code worth 100 points. Idk... That's just a wild guess, did anyone get a code who signed up before the code points were raised?
I just did some searching for myself and I couldn't find ANYTHING that said they were limited to 1000 codes. So wherever they're getting their info from is from somewhere I haven't seen or heard of. People have still not received their codes and it's a random way that they're sending them out. I got 4 outta 5 codes and I didn't get it it for my third account created. I just sent an email out and I should get a response by the middle of next week.
I started when the QR codes were only worth 10 points, and I never received an email. I remember helping ZombieLover out though and I only scanned a few codes, not all of them, and he got sent an email from what he posted.
Yes, and I did get the code on that email address you did for me Chad... Then a few weeks later my wife got an iphone... So, I then used her phone to scan them all again on a different account.. I have yet to recieve that code for that email/account...

If you believe you have participated in this event and still have not received the code please let us know and we will investigate this matter for you. Ok, so I emailed them and this is my response-> support_na_cs@square-enix.com to me Thank you for contacting SQUARE ENIX support, We have found your name in our list of QR Participants who joined the contest after the 1 million points were reached. There appear to be many QR Participants who joined the contest after the 1 million points were reached. Our rules stated that you must contribute to the total point value of 1 million in order to earn the Avatar item. It has been decided that a code will be provided to users who made this list despite having joined after the milestone was reached. Please keep an eye on your email for another email including a code. Thank you for contacting the SQUARE ENIX Support Center.
And, now I just got this from them-> support_na_cs@square-enix.com to me Hello QR Participant, We have found your name in our list of QR Participants who joined the contest after the 1 million points were reached. Our rules stated that you must contribute to the total point value of 1 million in order to earn the Avatar item. However we greatly appreciate your enthusiasm for both Deus Ex: Human Revolution and the QR Missions contest and as such would like to award you with the following code: 0000-0000-0000 <- ( I removed code.) So, I'd advise anyone who played and didn't recieve an email to email them and you should get your code...
Here's my email from their support and it's taking a week for a response: Thank you for contacting SQUARE ENIX support, We apologize for any inconvenience this situation has caused. Our records do show that this email address was issued a reward code, however we apologize if your email service provider flagged it as spam so that it was never received. I also complained to them. What is odd is I sent it for one email address, but they gave me a reply to another email address I used. Which is odd. Though the names were similar, one had the number 1 tacked on the end, and the other had the number 13 But they also sent the statement that I wasn't part of the first million which is bull manure of the stinky kind. I definitely was part of the million on all accounts. Maybe my last scan came after the million, but I definitely contributed.
