didn't think I'd check back here tonight. ty for your thoughts Joanna and FF.

i thought i had the passwords on file for every region but i see i've got a ? mark by them now. brilliant.

it is my original machine, tho it has a newer 320GB HDD in it now thanks to papa-san.

    i'm so tired but i can't sleep.

if i call sony and say i can't get into japan or EU etc they're just gonna go, umm that's illegal. the only MAC i see getting use out of is one from McDonalds. ty for the thought tho.

guess i just got suddenly worried when b4 i was so confident. maybe the question mark passwords will work.

that's what gets me joanna, didn't ev1 make their japan accounts like i did? unless you can read hiragan and kanji it's a bit tricky. and HK, i was sure the youtube vid i watched to create that said you had to have a valid HK address. guess that wasn't the email address.

    too tired.

    thanks a lot hacker(s).

Trillian you would have to call those regions. EU would be easy. Japan customer service has English speakers so don't sweat it. This is all a mute point if you use the ps3 you made those accounts with. To change those passwords. Then later change the e-mail address to each account...

kaz Hirai mentioned we need to change our passwords, but he made no mention that we need to retype in out our current passwords. The ps3 may just ask you automatically to retype in your NEW password when it logs in. It may not even ask you for the old password. Sony's machine can see if this is YOUR ps3 or not and verify your identity without you doing anything. Each machine has a unique code built into the hardware. (the MAC address).

I'm sure you will be fine. Don't worry. :D

No matter what happens - it sure is going to be an interesting few days. Too bad it can't just be a valid email account needed for the main account - and then all sub accounts would only need to change their passwords without asking for an email account.

Many people I know didn't use valid email accounts when creating their other region accounts. I am sure most did use a valid email account when they created their first one though.

Good Luck to all on this.

Yaster a EU Mod as tweeted "OK, for the PS3 password change. You should be able to change your password on your PS3 without the need of email verification as long as you have previously downloaded content to/activated that account on the console you are using. Hope that clears that up."

yerr lets hope yaster who wrote :
"When you set up your account and either purchase/download free content onto it it "activates" with your console. Now your account is "associated" with that machine.
You can have your account activated on up to 5 PlayStation 3 systems (also 5 PSPs and a certain amount of Qriocity enabled devices like Bravia TVs and whatnot). You can also activate and deactivate your account on your system manually.
Say you have 3 PS3s and your account is activated on them all you should be able to change your password on them without the use of a verification email when PSN comes back online.
Sorry but it's kind of hard to explain without waffling a little."

Is correct then we all can live happily ever after :)

I am still gonna change my fake email into a real one asap so I don't worry myself silly again ,better be right yaster but seems more feasible or else would be a lot of hassle to get back id's if ever ..... good luck to everyone:canadian:

Muster Buster tweeted that as well. I so hope that is the case and that we just get a new password prompt. I also hope you don't need to put in your old one first.

Let's hope that it let's you begin by just signing in using your old info - and then tells you that you have to change your password before being able to go any farther.

There is a reason for using the "save password" function - so us ole folk don't need to remember - lol

I believe each account can only be activated on one ps3 machine at a time. I had that problem when a friend was helping me rent movies once for Home items for the Time of Eve Home item.

An account can only be logged into from a maximum of 5 ps3 machines. When you try a 6th machine, it won't allow it I hear. You have to call Sony and verify yourself and then they will deactivate your account on all 5 machines. Then you start over.
