I know or at least think there's already a post here about virtual items for Home, so I would first like to offer my apologies for a sort of re-post. I just saw the tour of the "Luxury Weekend Lake House" and noticed that it has both a microwave and refrigerator, which open and close. The thing is, for what? you can't put anything in either appliance. It's like a teaser, you can only slightly interact with, but can't fully interact with. I say at least allow drink's to be put into the refrigerator and taken out to be drunk and apply the same function to vending machines (i.e. ability to receive and drink beverage) all I'm saying is why have appliances, if we as users can't fully interact with them. I've been thinking about this for quite some time now, especially stoves and refrigerators. I mean I know some limitations apply, but I think this is doable. You can add stuff in the fridge though it's most likely not what you mean as an interactive experience. Just have a friend open the fridge for you(or microwave) and go into your inventory and place stuff inside it while your friend has it open. I have soda in my fridge. It gives the somewhat appearance that the fridge is in use.
Haha That Would Be Awesome ! Loot Released Their Kitchen Set And I Wished It Could Be Used .. Even The Toasters We Got In The Last Update Should Be Working BUT The Only Problem I See Is It Will Be An Active Item .. Since We Are Limited To 2 Active Items .. It Could Be An Issue.
agree totally! My boyfriend's sister bought the luxury lakeside apartment and said what is the point in having the microwave :S I wanna put food in it
I didn't know that, putting drinks/sodas in the refrigerator is great, but a friend having to open it for you to do so? that's not very realistic. In fact it's not realistic at all, if you open your refrigerator door at home, at best it sways either left or right depending on your model of refrigerator and you would never need someone to hold the door for you to put items in it. The same applies to the microwave (especially since, it's actually more like a toaster oven, which opens from top to bottom) no one else is needed for you to put items in it. I agree with you though, having soda or drinks in the refrigerator does or will give it the appearance of being in use, so I guess that would be the only plus (currently, I think they can and should improve upon it)
I cant really see an attraction to working appliances it isnt the sims its a social site I want active items that enhance the social aspect of home, having a virtual tea with a virtual piece of cake that I virtually baked dont really do it for me, can do that without a ps3
I'm with Gary...unless I can pop a virtual pizza in the virtual oven and then have a real one show up in my kitchen, there isn't much appeal for me.
I would rather virtual game items, like a volley ball or set of catchers-mits that you could use to play catch with random people. A good example is the basket ball you can use to set up crazy bounce shots in the 80's playground, only make it for a personal space.
