Hi all, We all know Home is going away, but what if you the community could help make and shape a new "Home like system" to be on the PS4, made by someone else and not Sony? What would you like to see done better than the Home we got now? Where do you think Home went wrong? What would you want to see the most in a new "Home"? Why not give your views on how you feel a new "Home" could be better if remade from the ground up on the PS4 with the community made to be part of its beating heart.
Honestly, I didn't see why they needed to replace Central Plaza with the Hub....Yes maybe modernize CP but replacing it was a bad move. The SportsWalk never reached it's potential to be used to launch into sports games like Madden or FIFA in ways you would have expected. It was like the whole 2011 redesign was meant to be so much more than it turned out to be . I sense that untapped potential of the redesign became a turn-off to original Home users. Sometimes the best plans are the simplest ones.
So if you could make a new platform (Not Home) that was like Home, what areas would you make better or what new stuff would you want to see? Move freedom to design your avatars look? Freedom to recolor clothing? Is so many things that could be added or made better, so lets get them ideas flowing.
No one said that, i asked how people think a Home like system could be made better if one was made for the PS4, not if Home was made for it
Sony is shutting Home down because it wasn't making money and never attracted the numbers needed to make it financially successful. I doubt that they'll make the same mistake on PS4.
Again, I'm not talking about Sony making Home for PS4, I' asking people how they think a Home like system made by someone other than Sony could be made better if was made for PS4.
Ok im going to try and make this more clear. Forget Sony and Home for a min, if someone else made a online community for the PS4 what type of things would you like to see?
Sorry to "gamers", gaming moved in a direction I have no need nor interest in following. I remember Sony had the cinema with film releses, (I'm tired and spelling is such an abstract concept), Home was so perfect & in that way that games really seem to find impossible, to allow us to go into and experience films, a real "add on" to films, buy the film, get a home space. It would be great to have a Little big Planet dynamic, to be given bricks, breeze blocks, stones, things to build apartments with. Ndreams made some funny skydiving game, but imagine going skydiving in home, action things, they could film skydiving, or swimming with sharks, or circumnavigating a black hole But then these worlds might only be limited by imagination of the makers and the makers are gamers nuff said. We could have a system where we use the eyecam to photo ourselves & then our bodys are imaged as the avatar. Eyecam games, rockband games in home, more freestyle interactivity.
Sony is a business that just reported a $2.5 Billion loss. If Home was making money instead of losing it they wouldn't be closing it.
A Home-like system on the PS4 would have alot of room for improvement. I think one big one would be the overall appearance and customization of our avatars, I think a good example of what I'd like to see in a new "Home" would be a slightly more in-depth customization and updated look to our avatars. The Sims 4's approach to character design and customization would be an ideal example. I think it'd be easier to pin point your avatar's appearance and incorporate race than it is on Playstation Home.
I like the idea of being able to change the colour of clothes instead of having to get the same item again for a diff colour.
more things like lockwood life to give you daily objectives and things to do. as from time to time if no friends are online there is nothing on home to keep me there
Yes some type of games with Ai would be good, i mean home has some ok games in it, but most that are not single player, need you to have other players playing to be able to play the game. So making games multiplayer but also letting you pick to play vs AI would be good.
I had several ideas over the years which I hoped would be implemented, but now will never see fruition. But if anyone plans on creating a new Home-like experience on PS4 here's what I suggest...Allow users to disable censorship so we didn't have to see ***** in speech bubbles, unless we wanted to.The ability to create a playlist of dance moves and locomotions from the ones I purchased for instant access to them.Have a music player that allowed me to play music saved on my hard drive for my friends.An option to silence ambient noise in my personal spaces (for example the Anime apartment).But the most annoying problem I had with Home was not being able to permanently delete items from wardrobe, furniture, inventory, and personal spaces. There were countless items I would never use. I counted close to 400 torso items alone. I could never open the storage in a public space because it had a impossible lag. I'm no computer expert but I think if we could permanently delete items, then Home would run smoother and faster.P.S. Bring back Irem Square! I adored the ambient music there
I love what KodiBear posted. Being Japanese, I would love to look more like myself. I have used the additional settings in Home to make my eyes more Asian but it still looks a bit off. I also would like to see more interactive personal spaces. I would love to have a Loot Radio type service but with more rich features to it. I would love to turn on my tv and be able to watch YPSH videos on You Tube and enjoy Netflix! That would be a great movie night with friends. On the back end of the platform, I would like the platform to be stable and smooth and have more strict policies for behavior and harassment. I would like to see the developer actually enforce those policies as well. I realize an online community is a monumental task to police but some of the PS Home tools and more can be provided to its users. You should be able to request permission to interact with someone like you do on Home with multi player dance LMOs. Nobody should be able to sit on you or do lude things with dance moves on you. You haven't experienced Home until you are body popped by a troll in a gold V Suit, gross, lol. More Verification of account information would be nice too. People wouldn't do some of the bad things if there was a real verified phone number on file.
