Have you seen this??? This is sooo dang cool! I'm debating buying this. In terms of style, I think it's an incredible design. Though I think the button areas look a little "melted" to me.just a little. Like the mold for the plastic has been used too many times around the button areas. But otherwise I love the look of it. Plus Tron design goes good with the virtual worlds ps3 creates. I FIGHT FOR THE USERS!
I saw this and was going to buy it, until I found out that it's not wireless. Granted it's a great looking controller, but I don't want to be tied down by a wire.
oh it's Wired... NICE! About time someone started making a wired controller for PS3... I hate this wireless crap. LOL! Wired was always better and was used to it on PS2... So that would be a good one to get then. I wonder who has it and how much are they asking for them? By: DCS
Is it made by Sony? I bought a off brand controller once and took it back after a week. The R1 button was glitchy and the X button failed after a week. Not to mention, it was clunky as hell! :O
It's not sony. It's made by PDP, which used to be called Pelican Products. I beleived I bought some inexpensive cables from them that worked fine. This was back when Sony was charging an arm and a leg for video cables. In addition to the cord, I'm also reading some other features that this controller lacks. Don't have six-axis. Oh darn.... maybe I'll still get it... It certainly is gorgeous!! It's limited too. ONly 20,000 units made. Each is numbered.
IF not for anything else just add it to your collection playstation hardware I feel will become as valueable as starwars stuff Sony's not stopping at PS3.
I don't mind it, but when novelty wears off just another $50 controller in my controller bin and that $50 can go some place better VS novelty fad item. Well, I guess if is for collectible sakes then I can understand, but DS3 does so much and wireless and it does what it does. For me it would be functionality first and aesthetic being second.
Hey FF - I was initially interested in one of those controllers as well — I love the design and it's definitely eye candy when all lit up. But I changed my mind when I discovered they were wired… and saw who it was actually made by. Cables are one thing, but creating a decent working controller is an entirely different beast. Another consideration is whether or not those LEDs will begin to bother you during prolonged gaming sessions or in darker room environments. That's an issue I have (extreme light sensitivity) and wish PDP included some way of dialing down or turning off the LEDs (short of pulling the plug, of course). I also wish the PS3 controller featured the much smaller TRON logo design of the X360 controller — the PS3 logo is a lighted Hollywood billboard in comparison! These controllers were originally released in late November 2010 alongside the TRON Evolution game with PS3, X360 & Wii models, and most retailers have long-since sold out. So if you do want to pick one up (and can still find one), I recommend you do it quickly. I'm pretty sure Amazon still has the PS3 & Wii versions in stock… If you're interested in rarity, PDP also offered a website-only, Clu-inspired Limited Edition Web Exclusive Orange Tron Controller for Xbox 360, of which only 250 unit were made (the entire run sold out immediately after it's was announced). Just thought you might want to see it (I like the blue one WAAAY better tho). Quick Side Note: PDP has one product I'd like to recommend to anyone with a flat screen HDTV and a PS Eye Camera — their PS3 Eye Camera Mounting Clip. It's easily the best PS Eye camera mount I've found to date. It also work with Xbox and PS2 Eye cameras. The adjustable design allows it to form fit to any flat screen, without requiring to use of adhesives or other
Yep, the PDP PS3 Eye mount unit is great. Bought it couple months back and works great on any LCD TV. The back clamp does most of the work as the front small L hook the bezel of your TV. Got it for $10 CDN at a local Toys R Us store.
