Nice Ronin. What is everyone's thoughts on the Captain American movie, I haven't heard anything good just from people seeing the trailers. It looks interesting but people aren't going for it.
I think Captain America, might actually be good, although no marvel movie has lived up to the hype and success of Iron Man. I saw THOR and all the action is at the very first beginning after that, it loses it's momentum.
I have to say, every previous attempt sucked. But this capt A has a really good suit. That is a big point in their favor. It sows they want to please the fan base AND are willing to also be imaginative and deviate just enough to make a better design. Usually you can tell by the suit if they are on the right track. Like wonder woman's suit looked bad. And you knew it was heading in a bad direction. Same with Superman. Or the clooney batman. But thenthere's the new trek movie, tobey macquire's spiderman, fantastic four, and iron man. If they get the suit right, it's an indicator that they Have a good feel for the character. And they aren't too fanboy canon not to improve the suits to make the jump from comic book to a movie properly. Course Green Hornet had the look, but not much else. And green lantern I hear is a better movie than the suit would indicate. Maybe green is an exception to the rule. LOL
I don't know on that 1 Firefly, Superman Returns was not bad at all. There were some issues with his suit & the darker colors Plus the smaller S & lack of an S on the cap but the actor playing superman was very suitable for taking over from Christopher Reeve, he even sounded like him. You can't forget the Incredible Hulk, that truly made up for that Green crap that came before it & the incredible hulk was amazing comic movie. Now the clooney batman, OMG the director that made Batman & Robin & the 1 that made Batman forever should be banned from ever saying the word Batman for the rest of his life.
Omg...I just turned on view signatures and HOLY HANNAH!!!! Anyways, don't get me wrong. I think Brandon Rousch was an awesome superman. He looked great as supermen and Clark. Though yeah, that suit I did not like. They REALLY need to ditch the red shorts now. And all the changes to the suit were pretty bad IMHO. But I donlike the actor. And think he did a good job. and the flying was very well done. I think they really gave superman a bad suit and a bad story. The relationship with Lois seemed kinda forgettable. It felt like there was some good ingredients on paper, but it didn't taste good together. Lois married to someone else felt off. The husband was a nice, but another forgettable performance. The biggest problem tho, was the villain. To tell a great story about a hero, you need a great villain. The more powerful the villain, the bigger the payoff when the hero wins. But Spacey seemed so-so as Lex Luthor. The guy they shoulda used was that Luthor from Smallville. That guy can really command a scene. He made the series finale. If you like superman, the last scenes with lex are really worth seeing!
No Eww EWW EWW, They should never use anything from Smallville EWW NOO!! A Superman movie is to be epic, why limit the movie with television actors. I totally agree they needed a powerful villain in Superman Returns but what i think they were going for is a Superman origins remake without giving us a Superman origins remake. It's like the director was going for the 2 & half hour Christopher Reeve Superman version add a new element, Lois married to someone else & had a kid, The Son that killed Superman Returns. That element killed it because a squeal would turn into, Superman the father & that's a no no. So the next Superman movie will have 2 have an all new cast &completely ignore Returns. I think the best way to go is to keep Brandon Rousch because he is the very best pick as Superman & keep Kevin Spacey as Lex because he's an award winning actor & he was a great Lex, to be honest he was a great Lex. Then replace everyone else. keep it earth bound by adding the villain Metallo to the story.
Hmmm.....I agree Smallville on a whole was weak. But I think there were plenty of great moments that were fun over it's very long run. The last dialogue with Clark and Lex was dang good. And the series ended with all the characters in the same relationships as the comics. Lex has no memory of Smallville. And Clark has become the traditional version of superman. I just think the director was the wrong choice for that last movie. The movie had incredible talent assembled. But the director made some bad choices for the direction of the film. The director controlled the writer in this film. So all the story mistakes were his.
I agree. Smallville was a teen idle thing like twilight, Superman shouldn't be lumped into that category. I usually hate remakes but this one looks awesome & it's not really a remake but more an origin how it all begun. If you think about it, it so reminds u of Deep Blue Sea.
