Okay, so Sony has confirmed its response to the new upgraded PS4, renamed PS Neo. It will not be showing up at this year's E3 conference, but it will be playing 4k resolution games and be used for Oculus Rift games exclusively. What do you think about the new upgraded system so far? Is it worth the wait or hassle, or will you stick to the old PS4? Comment below what you think.
From the start many have moaned about a updated system 3/4 years into the PS4 life span, but to me it's just like updating to a slim (PS1,2,3) but with the added bonus of it will make games look and run better. All games can be played on both system, so everyone can still play same games and with each other, some just get to look at a better version, just like going from mid to high graphics settings in a PC game, it's still same game, just made better looking. Main factor will be cost and just how much of a bump in graphics it will give and if it can play 4K Blu-Ray's, because the cheapest 4K player is over £400 so if Neo can do that and come in at that price point it's a win win for me.
4K doesn't means anythink to kitty, but if PS4 Neo consumes less electricity than the old PS4 that's means it's Eco friendly. and the console can last longer.
Those are good points, but also you need to remember that consumers would now need to buy 4K TVs to play for the PS Neo, and the developers would also patch their own games for the old PS4. I have no idea how this will turn out for some consumers, but it has given headaches on both sides.
Would not need a new TV for the Neo, it's very unlikely games would run at 4K and even if they did a normal HD would still work as the system would down scale the image the same was as both PS3 and PS4 do. Main benifits will be smoother graphics and better frame rates.
