Sign up for Gotham City Impostors beta, see what it's like not to be Batman Warner Bros. and Monolith have started accepting applications for a closed beta of Gotham City Impostors, the Batman game that is about people shooting each other for some reason, and isn't about Batman. If you're ready to don the cape and cowl of some guy, you can sign up for the beta here. It'll start in September. We suspect that if Monolith is really looking for useful data out of this trial, it's going to have to sift through a few thousand very confused bug reports like "too many Batmans on-screen" and "It is possible for Batman to kill people with a gun." :vampire: CLICK THE LINK 4 MORE :vampire: Sign up for Gotham City Impostors beta, see what it's like not to be Batman | Joystiq
Jul 20th 2011 6:00PM Gotham City Impostors expected Winter 2012, will cost $15 According to IGN, Monolith's Batman-free Batmantitle Gotham City Impostors is expected to hit XBLA and PSN next winter for a cool, crisp 1200 Microsoft Points (or $14.99). We've been trying to work out the exchange rate in our heads since this price was first announced: If Batman: Arkham Citycosts $59.99 and features one very real Batman, does it make sense for Warner Bros. to charge $14.99 for a game which can feature up to twelve fake Batmans? (Batmen?)While you compute this complex equation, check out the game's latest trailer posted above. Yes, it's all pre-rendered CGI, but it does a great job of giving you a brief introduction to the game's gun-toting counterfeits. :vampire: CLICK THE LINK 4 MORE :vampire: Gotham City Impostors expected Winter 2012, will cost $15 | Joystiq
May 16th 2011 6:42PM Gotham City Impostors preview: Batman with guns When I started at WB, one of the things I was most excited about was that I was going to get to work with the creative teams behind No One Lives Forever, Shogoand FEAR," Laura Fryer, general manager of WBIE's myriad Seattle studios told an assembled audience of E3 judges this morning. "So when I started, the first thing I did when I got that NDA signed was I went and found that team, and I said 'Okay guys, what are you working on?'"As it turns out, the team at Monolith Productions was in between projects and wasn't actively working on anything. After some encouraging words from Fryer, the team put some serious thought into what it wanted to work on next and the answer was ... Batman. :vampire: CLICK THE LINK 4 MORE :vampire: Gotham City Impostors preview: Batman with guns | Joystiq
Gotham City Impostors Hands-on Preview At the recent 2011 GamesCom event in Cologne, Germany, Warner were offering a hands-on experience with their upcoming first person shooter, the rather offbeat Gotham City Impostors. In development at Monolith Productions [F.E.A.R., No One Lives Forever, Blood], Gotham City Impostors is a multiplayer-focused shooter wrapped in a light-hearted use of the Batman IP.What Gotham City Impostors lacks in a maximum player limit, it more than makes up for in charismatic charm. Comparisons to Team Fortress 2?s humour are well founded, which is immediately evident in both the premise and presentation of the game. The idea is simple: a ragtag group of Gotham City inhabitants are keen to prove their worth as superhero replacements in a battle for control of the streets. :demonangel: CLICK THE LINK 4 MORE :demonangel: Gotham City Impostors Hands-on Preview - AusGamers.com
