My bf's 4 month old fully updated 320 gb has frozen twice in the last hour just from pressing the select button in home. The report abuse etc menu has come up semi transparent and then the whole ps3 has frozen. I know it is slow to come up when you press select anyway but this is just ridiculous. Anyone else having this problem? Also when we reset (only option) the ps3 it says it needs to check for possible corruption due to the crash, all because of being on home!
Wtf no way! Did the same thing happen to you, with freezing and crashing? When things like this happen I remember why I hardly go on home anymore :/ I never ever get this problem from games on my ps3, it only freezes from going on home or using the browser ( my 120 gb freezes from the browser or home at least twice a day. -_-) but my bf's is new and this is the only time its crashed, due to home :/ I don't get why the select menu takes so bloody long to come up anyway :l surely it should be speedy when you're trying to report problems.
the new warning comes up all the time as a part of the last update. every time my system does not shut down properly from home freezing or the internet browser locking up when i try to do a google search. you can skip it by pressing the circle button but i only do that when i know it was a normal crash that i get all the time.
Yeah I report the home ones but don't bother when it crashes on browser cos it's usually when I go on a flash based site or a "big" site with lots of text and pictures. So the possible corruption message is standard now since the last update and doesn't mean these crashes are any worse than previous ones? The word corruption really panicked me when I saw it
i dont think they are worsem i have still just been getting the same errors. it freaked me out the first 2 times i saw it. just make sure you give the ps3 a good 5 min and if nothing happens power it off and if it still doesnt go off make sure the hdd light is not blinking if you need to unplug it
Yeah I do wait a little while then I hold down the power button for like 30 seconds til it turns off....trying to move slowly in home cos the crashes are a pain in the arse..
If your are experiencing more crashes than usual, I would go through the hidden utility menu and run a Fix System check on it and Rebuild your database. You will lose your messages from friends. But it might make your system more stable.
