Hmmm.... now I'm wondering if I should have gone to E3 for at least a day this year myself (I stopped going a few years back). I definitely need to check with a couple buddies tho… I asked them to swing by and pick me up any Sony Home vouchers. I gotta give them a call today and see if they did (rather than the usual, where they give me a bag full of stuff months later). I SO hope they managed to grab me one of these…
AAAARRRRGGGHHHH!!!!! Well, so much for that… Although there IS a nice pile of stuff for me waiting for me from E3, an E3 VIP super voucher doesn't appear to be one of those items. Sadly, he said he never saw anything at all from Sony… and worse, never actually bothered to ask for one either, A bit irritating, to put it mildly, especially since they DID print up vouchers again year. This was the single thing over anything else I specifically reminded him to eye an eye out for — and to grab as many as he could get his hands on (as I always like "spread the wealth" here whenever possible). Oh well, another E3, another voucher code opportunity forever lost… Just another thing to add onto my continuing "worst week ever" list.
i wonder if you had a few of the vouchers if they worked on all regions or if they only worked on na accounts? i bet they only work on na account but is would be cool if they worked on all lol
Hey Crow… sadly, the only work in the region for which they were issued; in this case North America (U.S. & Canada) only. I've can't recall ever seeing any single code that could be used in all regions. Although I'm sure Sony could create one if the situation required such…
there was one ooops that Sony Home did once. They released a code for these fishy hats in NA. But the code worked in Japan too. And they spread like crazy for a few hours until Sony caught their error and put an end to that. But they let people keep their fish hats.
well, nobody wears that hat anymore. I never see it in NA. LOL So it's not surprising not to see it around. I can't verify that Sony didn't eventually remove that hat out of inventories. But I did personally see a flood of that hat in Japan's mall that day. Infact I saw it in Japan before I even knew about the code. By the time I found out it was a code, the dam was plugged up. So I didn't get it in JP.
Fishy hats? Um, wait a sec, lemme check my item database, I think I know what you mean… OK, are you talking about this "HOME Promo Video Promotion" (05.14.2009), which featured these two hats: the Goldfish Hat & Shark Hat? . . . . . . . . . . . Goldfish Hat . . . . . . . . . . . .Shark Hat . . . . . . . males . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . females If it was these, I never heard about the voucher code also working in Jopan, even for a limited time. I've also got no recollection of people legitimately wearing these in Japan back in the day; just a very few people who had hacked it after the fact. Not saying it didn't happen, just that I never personally heard about this, nor are there any notes in my own files about this (if it was the two hats pictured above). And if it WAS these hats, then I must have just missed Japan myself, since this was a time when I personally still tried entering my voucher codes into other regions. Anyway… interesting tale! Oh yeah, and if it IS these hats you were talking about, I do still have both of mine… they certainly weren't removed from inventory (well, mine at least).
those were them. I personally saw a half dozen of them in the japan mall right after that code went live. But it was killed very fast. too fast for me to do it myself. by the time I finally was able to find someone who could tell me, it was too late.
