Let me ask if the email is with a standard provider or just made up completely. I'm asking because with my Hong Kong account it appears I had typed the email into the PSN accounts management with a typo. It was a hotmail account and when I tried to reset my account I realized that there was a mistake especially after I received no reset email.

What I did was to write down the email with the typo from accounts management and then proceeded to create a new account with hotmail using the same email (typo and all) and then went back and reset my account. The reset information was then sent to my newly created email which I was able to use to reset my account.

Luckily it worked. I don't have a lot of stuff – certainly no store bought items – on my Hong Kong account. It would have been very stressful had it been my Japan account.

I'm pretty sure she just made it up. She's not happy at all right now. As you can imagine since she spent alot in JP.

So it's not @hotmail or @ gmail or something similar? The reset process does show the email it's trying to send the reset to.

I'll suggest your method to her,.... If I can ever get a hold of her. She's avoiding psn right now.But Maybe I can relay a message through a friend....

    I hope it works!

Yeah, there's really only 2 ways to recover when using fake emails.
    1. Make the fake email into a real one.
    2. Call Sony Japan support

Thanks Faga. I'm afraid my friend is screwed. I suggested making the fake email into a real one. I'm waiting to hear back.....

I hope for a miracle, but expect the worst....

I had my JPN account made since Feb. 2007 and its fake at @gmail.com. Had all those sign-in info written down on a piece of paper with my other region and kept safe some where secretly so I can fall back on it if anything happen to my sign-in info. Possibly she accidentally select one of the option in her Network Account option on the XMB and reset her email or password and cause her unable to sign-in? 'Til this day and after PSN hack am still using my original JPN sign-in info and email account without fail.

Have you spoken with her yet? Has she tried to redo her email?

The earlier suggestion is a great 1.
Make the fake email into a real one.
I just gotten my japanese account active again a few weeks ago but my e-mail was real. The problem which this is the second time this happened to me, is the e-mail address EXPIRED. Unfortunately if you do not access that e-mail address so often it will expire.
PSN does not notify that your is e-mail is no longer valid so the e-mail about the password change requirement was sent to an expired e-mail. I had to recreate the e-mail address again then i received the e-mail password change requirement notice. Recreating or making fake e-mail addresses real does work.

Do you have any of her other PSN accounts added if she has any?
Also whenever you reach her ask her to join this forum, that way you have a different way to stay in contact other then PSN or e-mail.

Well as i suggested before, ask her to join here that way you'll have another way of contact that's not dependant on PSN, in case of things like the outage, banning, PSN ID problems, e-mail issues or whatever. Different ways to keep in touch through network means doesn't hurt.
