Not home problems as such, but it is affecting my Home gameplay so I guess it is on topic...it's posted here: http://community.eu.playstation.com/t5/PlayStation-Network/Sub-account-to-master-account/td-p/10290508/highlight/false/page/7 This is REALLY starting to cheese me off now...pretty much the exact same problem these guys are having. I made my psn account when I was 16 so I (actually unwillingly) made my dads account a master as I made his first - my Dad has never been on his account. Not once, but I have to use it to put my card details in in order to buy home stuff, avatars etc. I have spent a lot if money on my account (through my dads but still my money), lots of gamesaves and I like my username because it's my name I always use so making another is out of the question. Also I deleted the master once to try and make another master and my ps3 actually wouldn't let me so I had to put dad's back up. Now I am on bf's new playstation because 1. We only have one tv, 2. His has more space, 3, mine crashes more. I don't think I can even buy anything on his ps3 because my bf's account is master and in order to add funds wouldn't I have to plug my ps3 in again...also so much hassle with the hacks before cos I didn't know dad's old password in order to reauthorize account to we had to go through hours of guessing etc and finally figured it out...it's just very pointless and it should be fixed by now. I am 19 in a month and should have been entitled to a master for a year now. I am not the only one so what can I/we do? It is a pretty common complaint on the forums nowadays and how many thousands of people under 18 will be in this same rut when their 18th birthday comes? I think you should be able to go to the current master and be able to give sub(s) master rights and/or switch the master and sub over if passwords are entered for the master to agree - just getting on my nerves - really, really shoulda been fixed by now.
Maybe if you get your Dad to phone Sony support, to ask them to make your PSN a master ID now that your 19, maybe they can do that, I'm not sure.
I doubt he'd do that :l but I don't know a UK number for Sony either... I just sent this to customer support (US I think) Hi there, I am wondering whether you could please please implement a patch with the next update for us to be able to upgrade master accounts to sub accounts or to switch them over. I made my account (April_Croft) in 2009 as a sub account with my father's account as the master...I am now 18 and will be 19 in a month, my father doesn't use the account so all funds added are from my card as I'm unable to add them to my own account. This has been bothering me since I turned 18 as I thought I would have automatically been given rights to add and spend funds etc. I have another playstation with my partner's account as the master so I am unable to add funds on there which means I would have to plug in my own playstation each time just to be able to add some funds. There are many threads about this on the official forums with no response from Sony officials. I am in EU, I couldn't find an email for EU customer support so I was hoping you could help me. Please respond, I am not the only one with this problem and I am really hoping it can be solved. Thankyou, kindest regards, April
It would be nice to have that feature. When I made my account, I went to make it as a master account, only to find out later it ended up being a sub account instead of a master. Not sure how that happened, as I never chose it to be a sub account. However, I've been too afraid to know what will happen to my stuff, if I called Sony and asked them if they could make it a master account for me.
Here's the response I got back: From: PlayStation Consumer Services ; PMHello April, Thank you for writing with your suggestions to allow accounts to be upgraded from sub accounts to master accounts.I do understand the need for added features like the one you are speaking of. I appreciate your enthusiasm and continued support for our PlayStation® family line of products. As you may have guessed, Sony Computer Entertainment America, LLC (SCEA) receives great suggestions from our consumers, as well as from our own employees, and employees of our affiliates, on a daily basis. The more different people we hear from, the better chance we will be able to honour such a request. Please feel free to submit your idea at the following URL: http://share.blog.us.playstation.com/ I am confident that the information above will allow you to submit your ideas to the proper department. If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to email me back. Regards, James M -I think that's kind of him to reply but I don't really want to post on the us blog as I am from EU and there are already tons of threads pj the forums... At the bottom of the message it said the customer service was for North America only and had a country selector...I will try and copy my message to an EU official to see what advice I have from them or whether they say to put it on the EU blog etc.
