Women of the West

The west was a simpler time where horses and walking was the dominate choice when it came to traveling, before technology absorbed our minds and altered us into mindless zombies, where the star and the dark blue sky was a welcome sign of sleep and the occasional across the fire singing.

It is believed that during the period of the west women had a very limited set of roles and were reduced to having to do things just for the "men-folk," although some of this is true there were some major differences in what a women's contribution was during the western time period.

The "Mary Sue," this was the woman who believed in modesty and family she'd make the perfect wife in that she was usually believed to be extremely submissive in all aspects of her life. Usually the Mary Sue trope is typically portrayed as the blond hair doe blue eyed creature with a heap of naivety and a loving heart, also she can cook mighty fine food. The outfit that represents this character features a long floor length skirt for modesty reason, a puffy long sleeve shirt w/ gloves that either match the color of the look or the safe colors(black or white) she usually doesn't go for a lot of accessories because being flashy looking was considered jezebel-like(go figure right?) for this variation I wanted the character to look sort of like a school teacher w/ the hair in a ponytail(I know they usually wore hats as well but I'm allowed some liberties). The outfit came from RDR it's a reward outfit although the hair and earrings and gloves are not.

The "Mojo," this woman was one of the boys w/ the foolish cowboy ways of the west. She not only wanted to be apart of everything there had to be an even tougher exterior in order to hang w/ the boys and not be considered a weakling. She isn't afraid to look dirty and even get dirty and play w/ the boys though she can usually look sexy if presented in that route. This character is usually played by the tomboyish kind of girl so it doesn't have a typical look just as long as the girl has sort of an androgynous face or can pull off a shorter hairstyle. The look I created w/ this was the LKWD cowgirl boots from the prairie public space the Konami green go-go top(shortened the top because she isn't afraid to show a bit of skin), the lasso for the cowboy like fun, and the chaps from threads also featured is an older cowboy hat from either threads or costumes(I don't know for sure).

The "Black Widow," she's the saloon gal so her role is a bit all over the place this character is sort of a mix of a dancer and then possibly a bit of the prostitute, she also can just be the bartender as well as a musician(if she has vocal talent). The saloon girls are a sometimes dangerous breed of girl because they were the inventors of being an escort and are also trained to kill if need be. The saloon gal is a fun time when you need one but beware the consequences of messing w/ one of these because it might bite you in the butt one day. For this look I decided to use something simple and very very revealing but fun. Konami go-go shorts, saloon gal boots, the LKWD sodium waitress corset and the sideswept LKWD hairstyle all completes a sexy yet fun Saloon Gal look.

The "Madame Stacey," this is the mother of the house, she's basically the pimp/saloon gal/bartender/bouncer all in one. She has more of a hand in running things smoothly while also being heavily desired by men because she's not for sale. She is a great role model and empowering because she found a trade that keeps her in an over excess of money but keeps her closer w/ the big dogs in the scheme of things. She's a lot more dangerous than the saloon gal is because she has deep deep connections w/ almost everybody in the town. The House mother is usually very crafty and not afraid to flirt heavily and show excess amounts of skin to get her way. For the Madame look I used the LKWD Saloon gal dress and boots, the female pirate gloves, and my favorite atm hairstyle from Gz the updo Bun.
