Make sure that Sony does not shut down Playstation Home without giving refunds to those who have spent well earned money | We the People: Your Voice in Our Government <---let's get our money back
I don't mean to be downbeat, but them US gov things need 100,000 to sign them, the Home community is not even anywhere near that in size.
Understandable, but its the fact that you are seeing many valued members on the Home Community to defend what they enjoy.
Yes but its pointless doing it in a manner that you know will not get anywhere because it will not hit the numbers, that a lone will make Sony seem more in the right. If only 2000 or so sign it. Its also pointless doing it after the event has taken place, a company like Sony will not swap minds based on the view of around 2000 people when the PS4 already has a install base of over 10 million, action was needed to be done before the event had taken place so show support and to have hopefully made Sony think yeah maybe we can fix the wrongs of Home and make it great on PS4. And one final note, all i see is not people defend what they love, put more people trying to get refund, thats even highlighted by the end of the post by it ending with get your money back, if it was about saving Home it would end save your Home, but its about trying to get a refund off something that we all agreed to would not give refunds. You dont get refunds off DLC for games when a new version comes out. Home is the same. Like i say if people really cared about saving Home they would have tired so before the event, but very few did. Now its happened its all i want my money back. Sorry but im just being real about it all.
It's not about having home for me. There is no saving home if the decision is already made to shut it down. Now I've been on home since 09 and I know I've spent $1000 at the LEAST in the past 5 years on it. So yeah it's all about the refunds now cause there is no saving home, Sony isn't changing their minds. And this isn't the only place I'm promoting it. Every signature counts.
But YOU and us ALL agreed to the TOS of Home and that clearly says that you will not be refunded anything. Its been legally agreed to so your out of luck. If you don't agreed with that fact you should not have used Home and agreed to no refunds, also agreed to no class action cases also in the SEN terms. What do you want Sony to do, ask the 3rd party devs for the money back they made from Home over the years so you can get your money back for content you used and hopefully enjoyed using over the years and in doing so making small 3rd party terms go bust and not have any income to feed a family? Im very sorry but you need to get real and move on.
Lol. If you don't wana sign the petition don't. Your mentioning irrelevant things all I wanted to do was post a link that I know people have signed already and that's it. If YOU don't want to sign it don't. But tryna downplay my reasons for wanting it signed is petty.
Wanting a refund on stuff you have used and had fun with is petty, even more when you legally agreed to that fact.
I don't think anyone is trying to downplay your efforts. Just trying to explain reality. We are all angry and upset over losing Home and on 6 months less notice than was give Asia and Japan. We all want to try and save it. But we can't. Sony is a huge corporation with loads of lawyers. Doesn't mean they can't still make a mistake, but its unlikely. When we first registered on Home, we had to agree to Sony's Terms Of Service. In that pile of legal language it explained that items purchased were a one time deal. Like a rental. Now that the service is ending, there is no getting the money back. If you rented a car for a year and then returned it and demanded your money back, you wouldn't get it. Worse, as explained, these items were made by independent small companies, not owned by Sony. These companies depended on the sale of the virtual items to make a living. To demand them to give us back our money after years of use is not only wrong but its virtually impossible. The current petition on the whitehouse.gov site will never see the light of day. Why? Because Home hasn't got enough users to get it looked at even if EVERYONE signed up for it. And even if we could get that many people to sign on, it is highly unlikely the government will step in and force Sony to return our money when it was clear from the start we agreed to Sony's Terms of Service. These are not "irrelevant things". They are facts. As posted on this site, there are new independent virtual worlds developing. Worlds not run by Sony. We should channel our anger at Sony into supporting one of those choices we like. Keeping in mind, that even if we support one of those, the terms of purchase of any virtual item will remain the same. It's how those services will try to make enough money to keep them going.
@Kiri I'm so glad you took the time to show EVERYONE what you really are...A TROLL. First of all, if it makes no sense then why did you even bother to reply? Next, I said the phasing out of the previous stuff works. Finally, if I thought I could play new games on old consoles I wouldn't OWN ALL THREE CONSOLES! Did you even read my post?? It's really sad you felt the need to stalk my playful little comment all over this thread. Constantly quoting and replying. The only thing you wanted was to post and try to get the thing ALL TROLLS crave...attention. You and your kind are a big part of why some people didn't bother to log into HOME. Here's a next generation concept for you...STOP BEING A TROLL! lmbo TROLL ALERT!!!
Right people need to cool down now. I don't want to lock this and people can disagree with each other. But do not turn it into personal attacks. Thanks
For me Home's closure means I can edge away from "Gamers" haha they are rabid and with foam round thier mouths I am so pleased we have Android now I hope to avoid ever going near Microsoft or Apple again, didn't want them in 95 & don't want them now. PSOne was ok, avoided PS2, PS3 is sweet, PS4, not coming through this door
No one has to go anywhere, people can disagree with each other all they wait, just don't go personal with it, thats a comment aimed at everyone.
I know this is pretty sad, but I really hope that Madmunki (yep, I'm rooting on them this time) able to get the fund to work on Neotopia. but yeah, sadly its a PS4 title, since [Karen] won't botther to support a Sony Product after this. I still wonder about that. but anywho.
Yes me too @kwoman32 I'll gladly chew on my little plastic foot that I put in my mouth and buy a PS4 if this pans out. I'm optimistic about Neotopia, in fact I've already looked at a particular PS4 Bundle. Well...I guess the complicated, love/hate, soap-opera type of relationship I have with Sony will continue. Stay tuned.
I am sad to see Home is going, I have so many things I'd like to say, but due to the nature of them...I will refrain. There are some things that need to be said tho.... 1) Thank You Carla, for everything to numerous to metion, but especially for this site, where we could all get well informed on events, contests and the goings on in Home. 2)The staff here on YPSH, who helped bring the information on things in Home to us, your hard work was noticed and very appreciated. 3)The community of both friends and others on YPSH, who have enriched me with your friendship and insight, I thank you all. And finally, I would like to throw out a few personal thanks and farewells until we meet again or we talk via message, my thanks to the following; Carla,Karen,Faga, Recca,Hopper,Firefly,Wolfen,Drake, I am sure there are more to add...but I do not wish to forget the help and friendship I recieved from these friends for both NA and JP Home. Thanks to all who have both helped me, and shared memories with me on Home, maybe we will meet again on Madmunkis <---(spelling?)new title?
