GOT IT in NA! It's not unlocking if you select "play" on the gift… …but it does auto-unlock if you enter the Spunland space! i don't even bother with the Wipeout, Scribble Pacifist or the Pottermore ones. kind of pathetic when people leave after getting their strike or 30 points in bowling, leaving me to finish out the game all alone.. just a bunch of s . oh well, nothing but gutters still gets a Victory

Seems Spun'mas is the same in EU; gift not opening yet unless you enter Spunland directly. Likely a clock thing for those of us in NA. Yes, the Xmas Companions are cool, but act like a bunch of overly-needy smidgen dogs. Also found an additional Orson reward sitting in my inventory upon entering EU. Remember that sorta bland Present Station we got from the warehouse level (just a table with a snow globe on it)? Well, we've been given an active Elves Workbench now! Way cooler… you'll see. And yes, we still keep the original item. Minor Update: Forgot to mention, that free Snowman you receive from the SCEE's email voucher (I mentioned elsewhere earlier)… is quite awesome. did an Inventory check and i see i have a Christmas Elf companion from last year. the grin he carries is creepier than the Elves in Santa's Workshop or the Lone Elf in the Ruins
The Spun'hat was a bit more of an Ass'hat in EU. Was actually far easier to grab in NA. Didn't auto open or anything even remotely entertainging. Mostly sat there laughing at me. After a couple log off/logins it was just suddenly there when I hopped into Spumcoland again. Third try the charm yet again… As for your Elf, a personal nightmare has been induced.
