This. Also, if you own a ps3 and still haven't played The Last of Us, go slap yourself. Causal gamer or not, there are some great games that are only on ps3. So I think you should at least play a few of them before tossing it out. I think the general vibe is 'ps4 is more powerful then ps3, so a ps4 version of Home would be much better'. And I can agree to that. But I also think that much greater version of Home could still be made on ps3. Maybe not today, next week, or next year... but as long as Sony continues to work on the core engine and the develpors continue to try to out do theirselfs, Home on ps3 won't die out. And will in fact only get better and better. I spent a fair bit on money in Home, but I doubt very much that anything will transfer over if there was a ps4 version of Home. You might not even be able to connect to users/spaces using the ps3 version. There are so many unknown factors at the moment, it's hard to really say. But yes, I plan to get a (Japanese) ps4 at launch. Since it's region free, there is no reason to wait for the NA ps4 to be released. Assuming it isn't launched all over the world at once, of course. I'll also be keeping my ps3. Why use a paid service to try to stream ps3 games on your ps4... when you can just play them on your ps3??
I might as well keep my PS3 cause I am on Home a lot and the games I got are getting boring mostly since I haven't bought one in months due to my addiction to Home. So, in truth, I'll stick with the PS3 for a while cause PS4 is gonna have bugs when it releases. Trust me.
Like many others I will be waiting to get the PS4. PS3 still has much to offer and Home has become an addiction for me. I honestly would be happy if they would at least just port Home as it is to the PS4. They do not really need to remake it for graphics or anything...just having it the same as it is would be good enough. Either way though I will not be seeing a PS4 in my hands until the price drops and games are done being made on PS3.
More than likely for me I'll get a ps4 but that's probably to support the long awaited KH3 game. I doubt I'll stop using home, even with it's flaws and foolishness, I still love a lot of things about home. I do wish and would love for it to transfer over towards the ps4 but I have high doubts that that will happen, plus I plan on waiting on a purchase of the system because I don't know if I'll like it that much and I want to do some test runs before I just jump into it.
Well to be honest I used to NEVER play my ps3. I started experimenting when I bought Call of Duty Black Opps. And Boom I got internet! I saw an icon: I was hooked!Besides I only watch youtube and netflix and playHOME. I think the smatrtest thing sony should do is update Home on the ps4 and 3 together so the users on the ps3 don't miss any Home on ps3.
My answer really isnt any of the above. Im a gamer and keep All the systems I buy/receive because they still work & I still enjoy the games for them (the oldest I have is NES). In a year I'll have my own place, and can proudly have them all out in a game room But back to the topic.. I dont plan to get rid of my PS3, and I dont know if I want the PS4 yet, certainly not the first model. I also like price drops/used stuff so I would wait at least a year to get it. And I wont get a PS4 Only for Home - as much as I love Home, the price of a new system will not justify the use. Lastly, I currently work way too much and only have a couple hours a day to get on my Ps3; I have a newly acquired Xbox 360 that I havent even touched yet, and I dont want to buy another system just to have it sit there.
I have 2 PS3's now, and I visit myself in other regions and the like, so I will keep both my PS3's. I have no desire to rush out and buy a new system, especially if Home isn't included, seems to me like it would be though considering the $$$$ it generates for Sony...don't you think?
I am really a HUGE fan of PlayStation Home, and I go there a lot. I have met some people there. I really want and hope Sony keeps PlayStation Home for both PS3 and PS4. (I look forward to be adding the PlayStation 4 to my collection.)
I will not be getting a ps4 at launch, and will wait and see how home will be handled. I am not thrilled at the prospect of Sony turning a blind eye to all of homes users and considering how Sony does what it wants to and doesn't care what anyone thinks it looks more and more like home users are going to get left behind with the new system. I will still hop on the ps3 and maybe even get some of these games started/finished wile the ps3 home servers are around.
Well the only way i will want a ps 4 for home is just if you can transfer your old account from the ps3 on to ps4 cause that would just be ridicoulous if you had to start a whole new account and if ps4s online universe would be connected to ps3 so that would mean you would have to make a whole new name and account.
I am a Gamer! I have well over 200 + titles (PS2 AND PS3 COMBINED)... I even still have my PS3 Fat in addition to my 320 GB Slim...I just never went online with my Fat one...So Home was just a cool Bonus... I split time between both! But for Now I'm playing my Saints Row titles in prep for Saints Row 4 this Month ...I got my Pre Order in so I'm stoked!!!! I'm also playing Mass Effect 3!...I need to find part 1 and 2 for that too
I have 3 PS3's so I'm in no rush to get a new console, if Home is there I'll see if the hard wear is worth upgrading immediately and sell 2 consoles but I don't see a need to rush.
I'm holding off on getting a PS4. I want to wait and see what others think of it, after they've had time to inspect every single aspect of it. Plus, it's always good to just wait and see how the first batch of PS4's will operate. There's always a chance of something going wrong with first batches of a new product. However, in order to continue playing some of the game series I love, I will eventually have to break down and get a PS4, even if it doesn't have Home on it. In the meantime, I'm going to stick with my PS3. It's got quite a lot of life left in it and I don't mind visiting Home every now and then, yet.
I for one will be very disappointed if ps4 doesn't include home. The only reason I wanted to buy a ps4 at launch is so my significant other and I can be on home together. As the improvements keep rolling out I see myself spending more time on home. My only gripe with home is all games should be playable for free with the ability to earn store items as well as buy... if you want to obtain an item the easy way.
I'm not sure you understand how it works. Sony already has your PSN user name and account info. There is no reason for you to make a new account on ps4 unless you really wanted to. And while you need a PSN account in order to use Home, you don't need Home in order to have a PSN account. A lot of people actually delete Home from their ps3s. If the there was a version of Home that was 100% the same on both ps3 and ps4, it wouldn't be a problem at all. But if you were Sony, wouldn't you take advantage of the added power of the ps4 to make something much better then Home? My guess is that Sony will make a 'Home-like' program that looks better and allows for more freedom then ps3 Home has, or could have. The downsize is it's very doubtful they would allow users from Home and this new program to connect to each other. It might not even be possible depending on how they design the program. As for buying everything over.... it would be great if they were planning some kind of transfer program. If, like I said above, the ps4 was running the ps3 version of Home. Not a problem. But if the ps4 version of Home is even slightly different... like for example having both left and right hands as differnt item slots while the ps3 users just had one hand item slot... you can see the errors and bugs that would create. It's so much easier from a programming stand point to start all over and make something better for ps4. Slightly off topic, but God Eater 2 is coming out for both psp and vita. If a psp user and a vita user can play co-op together or not would be a good sign of things to come.
yes i will keep my ps3 too get on home.I put many hours in the games i play lol.Number 1 old bots.number 1 new bots serenity plaza(well not yet lol but i will be) number 2 uproar.
I can't wait for PS4, but I'm going to wait a while for it to go down. Hopefully Home get transferred over to PS4. PS Home is enjoyable and has potential for so much more to be done with it. I hope it sticks with all future Sony consoles.
Lplan to buy a PS4 6 months to a year after launch just to see if any bugs crop up. Also waiting for more games I like. I will keep my PS3 if Home isn't on 4. I have to have Home! sent from my Android Smartphone Thingy =)
