Welcome to the Game Mechanics thread! Here is where you will find info on all the cool things Game Mechanics is making for Playstation Home. Enjoy!
Check these out.... some of the nicest table and chair sets in Home for your personal spaces.......and easy on the slots too !
One nice thing about the way Game Mechanics develops is that they really work to reduce item slots wherever possible. That's an awesome advantage for those that enjoy decorating.
Game Mechanics introduced themselves with a bunch of cool stuff from their Contender Series. Start with some canvas chairs that you can write on adding your own custom text. Whether it be people’s names creating assigned seats, a title as in a director’s chair, or some fun game you can play with your friends. They come in eight colors plus regular and tall size. Bundles are available. There are also tables that seat four but only take up three furniture slots - bar style tables and a picnic bench. These are tables that you can place where you can sit close to the tables and people face each other. Formerly that was only available in furniture that was built into spaces. There are also tables with built in lamps for those intimate dark corners. In addition, a giant tire clock that hangs on the wall that is so big you can read it from across the room and a clock made out of a steering wheel. The clocks only take up three furniture slots, not twenty two like the old days. Finally they created a desk out of racing car parts – seat, cylinders and all.
This feels like an episode of "This Is Your Life". Thanks! Definitely let us know what you are thinking. We listen.
I was temped to give Karen a joke warning for spamming lol, Will set your id for you to the dev user group. Welcome to the forums again
Just wanted to say thanks again. I appreciate when game developers talk to the community, even though some forums (not this one) can be a bit rude. It always help to hear from developers what's going on when things there's a problem in Home. Especially when Home staff decide to run silent when there's a problem. Which is normally how staff acts.
Glad to be here. Fell free to ask anything. I always try to give an honest answer. We are not political monsters like some P.R. people. And we use Home so we usually so we can usually find issues quickly when made aware of them.
I don't suppose Sony's given you guys any hints about it's future now that PS4 is out? I can imagine that might be a forbidden topic. But if you can say anything, people are really desperate to hear it! I'm sorta expecting Home to lose some budget from Sony as they go full PS4. We'll still have it. But probably might take a hit when PS4 arrives. And I'm not expecting Sony to develop a Home client for PS4. Though I'm betting it will be on their cloud gaming. At least I hope so! I'm hearing my friends are a little worried about Home's future. So it's effecting their purchasing.. Some are saying "Yeah, I would have bought ______, but if Home's going to end then I don't want to spend anymore" That's probably effecting my purchases of apartments. But I'll still get stuff for my avatar since thats what I socialize with. I just got the elf ears from Lockwood. Now I have a great Spock avatar. LOL
No hints on Home on the PS4. But lots of hints that Home will be on the PS3 for the foreseeable future. So it isn't going away. But it would be great if they do have it on the PS4. I am hoping.
That's kinda what alot of us are expecting. A couple of years on PS3 and if we are lucky, on Cloud gaming on PS4. I actually would like to see Home expand beyond Playstation. I would like to see a Home client program made for PC and Mac. Maybe even xbox too. Yes! even that! And when tablets become powerful enough, on those too. Back in 2008-9 the head of Home, CydoniaX talked about how Home's revenue was based on advertisements. It also was a feature that encouraged people to chose Playstation. But now it seems purely based on sales of virtual items. And just that. By expanding to other platforms, you would multiply revenue for Sony and developers like yourself.
