From Sony & BBC Press Release : Sony DADC New Media Solutions’ interactive development group, LOOT Entertainment, and BBC Worldwide’s Digital Partnerships team have joined forces to bring Doctor Who to life by creating a social gaming and commerce environment inside PlayStation®Home. Available to more than 31 million PlayStation®Home users across the globe on March 27th, the Doctor Who on PlayStation®Home experience will immerse gamers in the world of Doctor Who by allowing fans to interact with iconic elements, explore and customize environments, and watch content from the popular television series in a social atmosphere. Doctor Who fans can enjoy dynamic features based on the show’s most popular characters and scenery, such as the Eleventh Doctor and River Song costumes, and a TARDIS- themed private space and clubhouse. Users can also visit the Doctor Who-themed LOOT Space Station Theater for additional video content from BBC Worldwide and shop for Doctor Who items - both virtual and real - via LOOT’s Entertainment on Demand system. “We’re really excited to be bringing this much-loved series to social and virtual worlds,” said Simon Hutson, senior vice president digital development at BBC Worldwide. “Discovering new ways to engage with our fans is incredibly important to us, especially as we approach Doctor Who’s 50th year.” “We are committed to preserving the spirit and aesthetic of Doctor Who while introducing this historic franchise to PlayStation®Home” said David Sterling, vice president of business development, LOOT Entertainment. “It’s the same Doctor Who millions have loved for almost 50 years—with a virtual, interactive, and social twist.” In celebration of the series’ 50th Anniversary, additional Doctor Who themed virtual goods, environments and social experiences will be added to Doctor Who on PlayStation®Home throughout 2013.
Clearly Home's start up will have one them images above on it as its a screen cap from it (partly filled home logo) The personal space might be good, but not so sure on the outfits. Need a better image of the female one.
I had some nice tweets with Loot just now. They are really great! They are a very cool team. A sonic screwdriver is coming next weds. I can't wait to get one
ive been telling my friends for a while that DW needs to come to Home! although they didnt do all the ideas i wanted for DW items, its a start!
Please post your feedback on the new LOOT Dr. Who personal space. Let everyone know what you like/dislike.
I hope the next add to this includes K-9 as a companion, preferably with him saying things like Master, Mistress, affirmative, I am an automaton etc.
Loving the stuff released so far, costumes are quite detailed and the space, wow, love the white room Will be fun decorating that. Only one minor problem, no sonic screwdriver for female avatars, hopefully that will be in a later wave.
too bad I already got the bundle I'm really liking the space. But it REALLY needs the waaaahhhhrrrr.....waaaahhhhhrrrrrr.... noise. Like in the Loot advertisement. Without the sound, it's really missing something. The Tardis Active item also needs that sound. Also the Cloister bell would be nice.
I hear the idling noise of the TARDIS engines inside. You really only hear the sound from the vid there upon landing and take off in the show.
I had a good old look around the space and I love it. I would like if we could play about with the main console a little and as FF said we do need the tardis sound, not all the time but every now and then would be great.
