First of all I wanted to start by saying I love costumes, just love them, if you see me in Home 9 out of 10 times you would see me in a costume! That being said, with the introduction of the Granzella Edo game space on PSHome EU and NA we gained a lot of new costumes to play with. The costumes itself are a mix of fictional and traditional Japanese warrior armours weapons and clothing like Samurai armours, Ronin, Ninjas and even runaway Shinobi!. I for one love the whole Japanese Samurai and Ninja history, like many other people I grew up on Japanese (anime) cartoons or movies like the Shaw Brothers, 36 Chambers of Shaolin, Drunken Monk or newer movies like Azumi and classics like Enter the Dragon. I would even go as far as blaming the Samurai Pizza Cats! For those of you still unfamiliar with the Edo space (Shame on you!) I picked up a short summary from the granzella website: Operation: Defend Edo, is available to play in the Edo Period Themed Lounge. Protect the peace of the Edo period! Defeat the Mononoke by utilizing a wide range of attacks and actions. Fight alone, or team up with friends to battle against powerful Mononoke. Edo is a peaceful city, however there is another Edo you have yet to see. This alternate world is very similar to the Edo you know, however, in the streets roam horrible Mononoke (evil and mischievous spirits), such as Oni and Hitodama. Choose a mission. Once the mission is finished a blue pillar of light will appear. This light can take you to safety. In the fight against the Mononoke you can attack, jump, defend, and use a crouching stance. Be sure to make full use of these various actions. Use vertical cuts, side cuts, and other various attacks against the Mononoke. Operation: Defend Edo is challenging, therefore you must have a weapon equipped. A bamboo sword is available for free, just pull it from the straw figure nearby. In addition, If you go to the clothing store, you can buy a more powerful weapon and also clothing and armour to increase your defensive abilities. Operation: Defend Edo is challenging either as a solo battle or a group battle with friends. Solo Battle Examine the blue sign to take on the Mononoke by yourself. Group Battle Examine the red sign, along with your friends, to battle side by side against the Mononoke. Okay! well I think the summary said it all! Now, for those of you wondering which costumes Granzella has given us to play with I've taken the liberty to highlight a few of them and give you some background story on them, please note that not all of them are available in all the regions yet! Chapter 1: The Last Samurai The samurai (or bushi) were the warriors of pre-modern Japan. They later made up the ruling military class that eventually became the highest ranking social caste of the Edo Period (1603-1867). Samurai employed a range of weapons such as bows and arrows, spears and guns, but their main weapon and symbol was the sword. Armour in Japan has a history that goes back as far as the 4th century. Japanese armour developed enormously over the centuries since its introduction to the battlefield. It was worn to varying degrees by numerous classes; most notably by the samurai , and was seen on the battlefield both on mounted and foot troops. The pinnacle of Japanese lamellar armour is generally accepted as being the ō-yoroi (大鎧, literally 'great armour') type. Granzella's Great Samurai Armour Granzella's Fleeing Samurai Armour Chapter 2: Silent but Deadly A ninja or shinobi was a covert agent or mercenary in feudal Japan who specialized in unorthodox warfare. The functions of the ninja included espionage, sabotage, infiltration, and assassination, and open combat in certain situations. Their covert methods of waging war contrasted the ninja with the samurai, who observed strict rules about honor and combat. The shinobi proper, a specially trained group of spies and mercenaries, appeared in the Sengoku or "warring states" period, in the 15th century, but antecedents may have existed in the 14th century, and possibly even in the 12th century (Heian or early Kamakura era). The historicity of armour specifically made for ninja cannot be ascertained. While pieces of light armor purportedly worn by ninja exist and date to the right time, there is no hard evidence of their use in ninja operations. Depictions of famous persons later deemed ninja often show them in samurai armor. There were lightweight concealable types of armour made with kusari (chain armour) and small armor plates such as karuta that could have been worn by ninja including katabira (jackets) made with armour hidden between layers of cloth. Shin and arm guards, along with metal-reinforced hoods are also speculated to make up the ninja's armor. Granzella's Shinobi outfits Granzella's Ninja outfit Chapter 3: The Shrine Maiden. Miko performed in Japan throughout history. The term Miko means possession by gods and spirits, and while originally perhaps all Mikos employed ecstasy, the term gradually came to include many groups which did not use ecstasy. Mikos performed both within the shrines and outside of the shrines, divining, driving out evil spirits, performing sacred dances, etc., the purpose of which was to serve mankind by preserving life and bringing happiness to man Granzella's Shrine Maiden Let me assure you that these are not all of the costumes Granzella has made for us, not even are these all the available colours, besides these there are ofcourse also the Warlords, the Ronin and the mandatory hot babes in mini yukatas! Granzella's mandatory Hot Babe in Mini Yukata That's all for now. See you in Home! WitchBlade.
I love the space myself but I have to admit it takes training to be able to beat those demons. First couple times in I got PWNed. Also the outfits are sooooooo cool. Just wish they has more weapon options in game, not just the Katana style. I hit that area at leas once a day to 3 times a week depending on my day. Oh and looking good Witchblade. I like your style.
Slaying one eyed monsters all day, trying to get the bloodstains out of your clothes afterwards, and for what? Rewards of course!!! Right now we only have a handful, but more rewards are coming our way! So what are we fighting for? Well....... why don't you take a look yourself? This centipede fossil is actually 9 rewards, the box and 8 pieces which when put together form this nice centipede display! Oooh wait!!! You thought those houses were small right? Not only are they big, the roofs are separate parts, so you can actually take them off And did I mention there are masks? See you in Home!
