Braddicus Yep i don't think you would be able to gift it via Home, inless you had it given via 1 time use PSN Redeem codes, that got given out.
Braddicus, I was thinking of a furniture item like below: I photoshopped that image from alot of images I googled, and repainted bits of it. But that is cool to me. I hope you bring in old style spy stuff. I think there's an appeal for things from old spy shows like Get Smart, Boris and Natasha, and Wiley Coyote vs Roadrunner(well, not spyish but that has cool stuff too) Like there's a red phone you see alot. it only has ONE button in the center of the dial. Because there is only one person you will call in the most dire of emergancies. I like the attache case with handcuffs as a hand item. let's see... maybe you can make a hand held geiger counter to find a secret radioactive warhead in the game. It crackles as you get closer to something nuclear. Though with Japan, maybe that's not a good idea right now. I dunno, maybe.. A open suitcase nuke furniture item. Or maybe just a nuclear bomb with a timer. That would be another idea. I'll post more if I think of any.
YaY!!!!!!!!!!!! i can sit on it and go out with a B A N G. James Bond and Sherlock Holmes is going to be jealous. hahaha Great Idea (reminds me of midway something not ordinary) not in the game but you want it anyway
I was wondering, does Home charge much for 3rd parties to make multiples of the same object? Like if you make a chair, can you make a red one, a blue one, green, etc?
IMO the above ideas are great. Furniture items that bear a logo or cast an image would work because they get the "billboard image" out there, but are more than just another t-shirt that nobody wants to wear. Other clothing items could be hoodies (most have some sort of logo) or baseball caps (with logo).
@trillian: haha but of course.. you are one of the awesomest peeps ive met on here.. @braddiccus: hehe.. more like 'bling tech'.. but yes, i didnt mention furniture cause i thought you wanted to focus on walking billboards that are tees.. furniture is no doubt a much better reward than tees and if theyre good, then they will still certainly get talked about like the assassins creed 2 awesome furniture rewards.. only problem with furniture reward is that they are limited to your own personal network as oppose to strangers (non network) just seeing your outfit from afar.. but to take it up a notch, i think it is a much better investment to make a better outfit like a full suit. ive still yet to come across a reward that covered ALL the slots.. not just the head, hands, torso, legs & feet, but also jewelry, glasses & headphones section.. and to make them all 'blinky tech'. xD anyway, thats my 2 cents.. keep up the great work and try not to forget about eu home.. >.<
Semi-correction, nobody but me. I'm not saying I wear tees all the time, but c'mon everyone, there ARE some cool t-shirts!
Jeans is a good idea, i know Motorstorm released one too back in the days, and Motorstorm also had a hoodie so that would be nice too, or do it like Japan with a georgia Suit. At least bring out something worth wearing lol.
GT900 - The Robot suit we give you for free with the All access pass covers all the slots Firefly - That's not exactly how it works... the main consideration is how much of the developer's time an item is going to take up. But yes, every single color variation is a new unique item, it's not as simple as just clicking a new color in photoshop... So you should see a couple ideas from this list in this weeks update Also, rather than doing a big update every other week, we've split them into weekly updates for the next few...
Oh thanks for explaining. I have no idea what Sony requires for Home. It's all a hush-hush mystery it seems. I understand photoshop layers to get a bitmap texture and UV's. But SDK and Sony's way of handling 3rd parties is a black box to all of us. ;D
Firefly - It's not that it's a black box, it's just that there are so many moving parts and technical requirements, that even after making a project like Conspiracy I still only understand a tiny part of it. The upside is Sony seems pretty committed to making serious improvements to the platform, as they are rolling out new features to us pretty regularly. ReginaldShort - That's a possibility, but more than likely it would have to be part of a torso item like a shirt and tie set... There is only a Torso slot, no neck options...
Is it difficult to get your product to work right in the SDK? Like how moving files from zbrush to maya can get a little funky. btw, your Conspiracy minigame active items helped alot of people with Japan accts. We had an error. Back in December there was a christmas Winter Wonderland lounge in Home Asia, Home NA and Home EU. But in Japan the lounge was there but not publicly activated. BUT someone found it and got it. And it had rewards. And it spread amoung users like wildfire. And soon EVERYONE with a japan count had reaped a bounty of 21 WinterWonderland rewards in Home Japan. But because it wasn't public, Home Japan took away all those rewards. But they didn't do a good job. And when you earned new rewards, they could vanish the next time you logged on. And the error wouldn't go away unless you got 21 rewards to fill the slots that the winterwonderland rewards filled. Some of us were able to go on our Japan accts and visited our friends in NA in their appartment. Then we played the Conspiracy Game and the rewards from that helped us fill our 21 slots. And fixed that error. It was very nice that your rewards were in Japan! It really saved our bacon.
Firefly - It's not particularly difficult, we've got a team of genius level engineers. If I'm ever stuck art-wise, they usually come over and have a simple solution that makes me feel silly... There's just a lot of steps that all have to be done in the exact right sequence, or it all comes down like a house of cards
All I ever wanted was a ps3 console for my personal space. But a more related conspiracy item, would be a laptop like the one's you use in the game...
Braddicus could a tie item not make use of a other slot, say the hands in much the same way that lockwood make use of the hands slot for wings on your torso back? I know there might be some clipping problems with the tie going behind some thicker torso items, but most would wear it with shirts/t-shirts really, so as long as its not design to be right next to the torso skin i think it would work fine with most items.
C.Birch - Hmm... I'm going to experiment with the idea, and if I can figure out a way to make it work elegantly, there's a good chance we'll include it...
Braddicus Hope your tests go well, if you can work out a way that works well it can open up a full new range of clothes and items for Home.
instead of the hands slot, how about something oddball, like earings. That's a seldom used catagory. Not very many guys even use that one.
