It would make the COMMUNITY event/game thingy useless if Sony were the ones who voted, they have a nice concept going they just fell hard on there with the execution of it. All they need to do is button up the issues that people are posting about and it would make it 100 better to do.
Oh I know exactly what he did too. He submitted his entry near the time they pick the winner and he have himself a perfect 10 and stole the win pretty much.
So a non themed entry won. Surprise surprise. And sadly when it comes to Home there are too many griefers and non mature types in North America to expect contests like this to work the way they were intended.
its like they dont know what goes on in home and think its all rosey and nice, read the user events under the activity board that tells a lot.
Wardrobe Wars This new "contest" is flawed on many levels. As has been witnessed in its first day of operation. - It's a popularity contest, NOT a costume contest - "Sexy" avatars will get more votes due to the large teenage population in Home - The "theme" is largely ignored - You can vote for yourself - You can vote for more than one person - You can jump in right before the daily deadline and vote everyone a "1" and give yourself a "10" to increase your chances IMO, contests should only allow ONE vote. Even then, unless it is based on IP's, users with 10 accounts will vote 10 times. Any contest based on a "theme" should throw out entries that do not follow the "theme". That takes personnel and doubtful that will happen. Implementing a contest in Home requires a lot of planning to insure its fair and equitable to all. Sorry to say, Wardrobe Wars wasn't well thought out. Feel free to voice your opinon.........
I was going to wait on my opinion... but here goes on what I have seen so far. I personally think: 1. Someone from sony needs to weed out the non-theme people. 2. Only one entry per person unless that person wants to delete their first entry (perhaps a bad pic?) 3. I am undecided on number of votes per person... It seems to have great potential for abuse as it is...
I honestly find the whole thing ridiculous... 1) People dont follow the theme 2) Youre allowed more than one entry on a contest which lags up the system 3) There is no delete button to get rid of photos you dont want 4) You cant cycle through to see what your friends posted to help them out with votes. Those are some of the hangups I have on it. I would go on, but I'm not going to type a novel.
I must be totally blind, yesterday i definetly saw the sports theme mentioned on the game but today i couldn't see one. I imagine this is completely pointless for me anyway, if its just a popularity contest.
The theme is there, btw sports again which makes the whole thing even more ridiculous, but it takes ages to load. Have to agree with all entries above. Totally useless contest the way it is implemented. Sony: FAIL.
Anyone else not get the participation reward or whatever it is? I have no interest whatsoever in actually seriously participating in this fiasco, but did enter yesterday for the reward and got....nuttin. Same today.
Multiple reasons why i hate this event :left: 1). No one follows the theme 2). People vote at the last minute and give themselves 10's and everyone else a 1 3). People vote only for girls in hot outfits (i followed the theme, still got a 2.5!) 4.) I cant find my friends to vote for them 5.) Can't delete entrys What was Sony thinking? Sure this concept had potential but its dumb when you let the users vote, they let HOME Adiminstraters vote, and people can only submit outfits related to the thumb!
yeah I tried it yesterday and then again today just for the heck of it. I guess others had the same problem from what I've read. Oh well...not worried about it, but thx.
I didn't get the reward on one either. I had to log off Home delete the Home file and log back in. Went to it again. And after sometime the pop-up then came up saying i got the Reward. I think the LAG is making it not work. AWW,
