I'm a woman ( last time i checked:huh: ) and on the internet ..........
i have met many guys who have female avatars on PSH, still cant find a good answer for (why are they doing it:whistling:?) !!
I tried to be in a male avatar( just to try to find out the truth behind it and other reasons of course:gunsmilie: ) and i only manged to do it for like few weeks before i started to have weird feeling :sweatdrop:
i really feel happy being female in real life and PSH ....switching gender in PSH is a bit disturbing to be honest:cursing:

 

Which was the point of my initial post in this thread. People go claiming this and that without even knowing the person (and as evident from another post aimed towards me here). People are stupid to think there's no girls on the internet and that everyone's a male.

I've read some articles about women and video games. Most of the gaming industry is male. Most of the games are made by males. So there's an better understanding of what boys want than females. But as a guy in school studying game making, I can tell you there are a lot of females now in school. So soon the industry will be more integrated.

While FPS games are dominated by male players, social online games have a huge proportion of females. Sometimes the number is larger than the males. This is important to realize for Home because that means there is a need for products that females want. Something that companies like Lockwood and BillaBong have realized.

Personally I can understand why guys like female avatars. While some have a desire to be feminine in real life, I don't think this is the major reason. I think some people see the avatars as "themselves", while some don't. "it's not me". Instead they see it as a doll or puppet they control. it's like how guys always refer to their cars as feminine. They see the avatar like they see their cars. And give it a female quality. Some would rather see a female ass all the time than a male one. (wouldn't it be weirder if most boys WANTED to look at males in Home?)

Personally I use both genders. I get bored of using the same face all the time. Or the same gender. Sometimes I like being an alien, or some other silly creature.

On the other hand, it's exactly the information/advice I would want given to every horny teenaged male newbie. If it makes even a few of them scared to molest my avatar, that works for me.

Gotta agree with Chad, this thread needs locked (FYI females are the largest growing group of gamers and if current trends continue within just a few years most gamers will be female so don't assume it's more likely someone is male just to get them to talk to you on mic ;D)
