No items whatsoever today...this makes -0 sense...what is with SCEJ and not wanting to make money? Has this ever happened before?
Its the week of Obon, thus is slow and more family oriented gathering holiday for the Japanese to celebrate the return of their ancestor into the physical world from the ethereal (spirit). Thus its important holiday/culture/family gathering during this time of August.
Yeah and SCEJ doesnt need update it mall every week like other regions Give the japanese breaks on buying items
Indeed and is Obon week as well, so workers are with the family to celebrate it with their ancestor and welcoming them home from the spirit world into the physical.

LOL..I don't think you want anything to do with Obon in HOME. Its more of a family tradition thing VS the fun stuff. Its a serious business in the Asian country (Taiwan, China, Japan and Korea) with this holiday being around to give respect to the dead and passed on love one and ancestor.
Ummm O.O Its like asking you to stick two chopstick in your food upright!? Do you know what that mean when you do that in a Chinese family dinner table?! Its major jinx in our Asian culture which mean you are praying to someone that is dead by the dinner table! Grr..LOL..Recca, don't ask for the ancestor doll, its a major no no. I guess not all Asian culture is understood by the Westerners..
LOL..Its cool Recca. But just don't stick any utensil/chopsticks into a plated food upright in a Chinese restaurant or at your Asian friend's dinner table then you are all oki doke.
Playing with chopsticks is considered bad mannered and vulgar In informal use, small, difficult-to-pick-up items such as cherry tomatoes may be lanced. Chopsticks should not be left standing vertically in a bowl of rice or other food. Any pair of stick-like objects pointed upward resembles the incense sticks that some Asians use as offerings to deceased family members; certain funerary rites designate offerings of food to the dead using standing chopsticks. Food should not be transferred from your own chopsticks to someone else's chopsticks. Japanese people will always offer their plate. Transferring with chopsticks is how bones are passed as part of Japanese funeral rites. Chopsticks should not be crossed on a table, as this symbolizes death. It is rude to rub wooden chopsticks together, it means you think the chopsticks are cheap. BTW I use a plastic fork when I get a take away lol
It's more towards a bad impression towards you rather than rude. If you do this at place that uses cheap wooden chopsticks that has splinters then it's ok, but that's rare in Japan. So if you go to a place that gives out regular good ones or non-wooden ones and started rubbing it, it gives out an impression that you regularly go to really cheap places that uses cheap chopsticks and doing unnecessary rubbing.
