ps home question

sounds like a speed issue either from internet provider modem or server

 

Does it recover on it's own? That is, if you leave it alone, does it eventually populate and respond? I've had home be unresponsive in the past and when I just waited (sometimes for a minute or two) it eventually did respond. Now I'm in a position that when I'm on home I can see my network activity lights and the HDD activity light. When it pauses like that, I see no HDD activity but slow and constant network traffic. If network traffic stopped and it paused for a minute or two I would restart.

If that isn't the issue, then it may simply be that the "one stop shop" and other shopping venues with large sets of items may be hitting an internal timeout before it is able to complete the transfer.

If you want to pursue this further, the output of the PS3 network test and the output of ookla's speedtest.net would be very helpful to determine if the issue is on your end.

I feel silly saying this but it is a recurring PS3 issue: Always use a wired connection. If your PS3 is getting to the internet through wifi, fix it first!

 

could also be a hard drive problem. if a certain part of the disk is damaged, accessing the data that is there could cause an error. that can always be fixed by using the hidden utility menu

 

just leaving it works, whenever i freeze i always press and hold the ps button so when it unfreezes it goes to the black screen and i know its back. but home has been buggy for me also the last 3 or 4 days i keep getting alot of boots when im in the mall or cp. but im fine in personal spaces. a few of my friends are also experiencing this. we get the "club chat has ben dissabled" about 2 min before the boot.

 

Most of the bugs are speed related whether it be sonys server internet provider or modem some are programme related like reward issue some are bad planning like Japanese apartments low ceiling but most would be speed related
