I'm not going to read anymore of these, until I see a title that says "The Hackers Have Been Caught and Had Their Retinas Fried by Lasers" or "PSN IS BACK!".
I think it might be helpful to remember that Anonymous is an undisciplined loose coalition of members. Groups like that have a wide variety of personalities in the membership. For example: DCS, Strider, and Joanna Dark are all members here. But they are nothing like each other.. They share a few things in common ( liking ps3 games, Home, etc). But reading their posts show completly different personalities. It is probably there is a wide variety of personalities inside Anon. Most Anons probably aren't involved with the data theft. But a large group that commits acts against the law will undoubtedly have some extremist members who will go farther than the rest. The ability to infiltrate Sony's server is a highly technical skill. It takes a skill level higher than most every user. Plus the person who stole the data must have had inside knowledge of WHEN Anon would penetrate the sony server's security. Who ever stole the data had intimate knowledge of Anon and it's plan to attack Sony.
I didn't say I was giving them the benefit of the doubt, however the law ensures we are innocent until proven guilty. The investigative results are probably long off, so I look forward to a more secure PSN being restored.
"PSN community I would like to play a game with you, You go about your days believing that nothing would ever happen to you blindly trusting a system with all your information, will you be so trusting and loyal to that same company when all the hits the fan, can they just as easily gain your trust after the dust is cleared, are you ready to play a game??"
it doesn't prove anything either way ... Sony was under more than one attack at once ... even Sony doesn't directly blame them, found a file, and said more or less that their intrusions MAY have helped someone else ... I won't blame them but won't rule them out either, Anons have said some may have gone rogue ... there's way too much speculation and rumors floating about ... I don't doubt the simultaneous DDOS attacks, the custom FW, the guys d/loading off the PS store with fake numbers that weren't being checked, on and on ... but then, unless any of us work there, who knows really what's going on, how severe it was Same as everyone thinking Sony was running old outdated servers, which is BS, we won't know anything really until the dust settles ... it's not a big surprise either that not much info is coming out til then, we don't know what they know, or what they CAN say ... I for one hope they fix it right, and take the time needed to do so correctly
Detectives are on the case now, when asked detective Phil Mapoccets said they would catch the offenders soon, But conversly Inter-pol expert Stuf Maphace said more lightly to be shortly than soon. Knot Bofferd a consultant in these matters said it sounds like they are beating Maphace and Mapoccets has come up empty.
Realise No one person speaks for anonymous, that is the point.... Why would you beleive they didnt do it, when the point to hack anonymously is to hack without knowing who hacked it... stop believing peoples sites looking for fame... How can you call yourself anonymous but be apart of an organisation that has a face, or a spokes person saying We didn't do it...
;D Instead of calling themselves "Anonymous" they should call themselves "No One" !?! ;D BREAKING NEWS: "No One" hacked Sony Servers ! :clapping:
i was on April 17 & 19 and from what i have seen on youtube of course lol they always send a publication of warning sent to the objective websites. None were discovered on sony's website maybe a couple of amateurs did decide to make a hacking reputation, but that would be a bad idea in there case or whoever did it with the intention knowing anonymous would be a distraction. From what i can gather sony is paranoid experiencing there weak security and are forcing changes demonstrating the accuracy to be prepared for the future, so with that being the cause they can take as much time needed!
I wonder if whoever hacked the system would have imagined the sheer scale of what they did and how it affects so many people... If they did, what kind of person does such a thing?
At the beginning of this thread the article states that 'Organised protests against the "Church" of Scientology were staged in over 140 cities around the world, forever associating the Guy Fawkes mask and the right to protest with the movement.' When someone's 'right to protest' involves the infringement of millions of other peoples 'right to the pursuit of happiness' I think the group is on the wrong track. If i belonged to an organization, no matter how lofty their ideals or goals, when they become a lawless and destructive group of people I have a responsibility to either leave that group or suffer the consequences of association. I believe in civil disobedience to the extent that when REAL injustices are taking place it is our right and RESPONSIBILITY to take action. For the life of me, I can't (and believe me I've tried) find in any of this situation a clearly understandable reason why this group has a moral right to attack Sony. What real social injustice has Sony committed on anyone? I haven't been able to find an answer for this question, and until I do I have to believe that whoever did this (and therefore anyone associated with this person) is guilty of petty and criminal actions. I've read the threads, tweets, blogs, etc.., supporting the case of Anonymous and in almost every single case it eventual boils down to irrational arguments and rants and raves against Sony. I'm of the opinion at this point that most of the people in this lawless group are really people playing at anarchism (if they knew what true anarchy was they would stop immediately). So, unless and until someone delivers a REASONABLE argument against Sony that would involve such a harmful action, I say hunt down the sorry SOB's and lock em up!
The only arguments for Anon I've seen tend to boil down children who for some reason believe they shouldn't have to pay for their games ever.
