I just tried out the demo for the Back to the Future game. I thought it was pretty fun. The gameplay is mostly linear from what I can tell. You control Marty McFly. And it starts out quickly like the movie did, but then it soon veers off on it's own story. Marty's voice is spot on. Sounds EXACTLY like Michael J Fox. And they got Christopher Lloyd for Doc Brown. Though the other voices are new actors. The art style is very cartoony. But you can recognize Marty as a caricature of Michael J Fox. You are constantly clicking what to do next. Gameplay seems very linear so far. And mostly you choose what to say next, or find where in the scene some item is that unlocks the next part of the story. gameplay is so-so. But there is alot of fun revisiting Back to the Future. All the gang is back. And it's very loyal to the original movies with lots of details for fans to reminisce about. I just bought the whole game for $20. And I'm eagerly waiting for the weekend when I will have more time to play it!
Great! I played the demo as well and liked it! I wanted to know how the rest of the actual game played though.. Lemme know how it is, man! 8)
Hey Zombie! Sorry that I didn't see your reply. It's a GREAT fun game. It may be primitive in it's game engine. But it's very faithful to the original movies. They hired the writer for the movies and it feels like you are watching and playing the 4th movie installment of this series. If you liked the movies, you will enjoy the game. Doc Brown is again voiced by Christopher Lloyd. He does a great job. And Marty is voiced by a new guy, but you can't tell him apart from Michael J Fox. It's a perfect impersonation! the gameplay is clunky. Feels like an old old game in how it plays. But the story and characters is really top notch. I give it a big thumbs up if you liked the movies. But if you were from ...say japan or hong kong and NEVER saw Back to the Future, then you might not like it.
OH! They added a date for the next installment. March 29 Telltale Games - Back to the Future: Episode 2 Hits PSN (North America) On March 29
I got the full version of the first episode they gave it away om telltale games, It's not a bad game just don't like how they broke it up into parts and could of better instead on walk and click..
Great Scott! LOL..I also bought the game bundle for $20 and am gonna download all five episodes and play it thru one after another. The anticipation of playing one and waiting for another couple weeks later just drive me banana..LOL..Indeed is a great production, but have you guy seen the original production artwork of Marty and Doc Brown? I just wish they could of keep it like 2-D animated style VS the stiff 3-D and indeed is similar to the old school with click and point game like Monkey Island, but hey, its an nostalgic movie which everyone love and can relate to and that is the Power of Love! ;D
They got the original actress of Marty's girlfirend to return to voice her character.
Yep, that is the big bonus with the original female cast of Marty's gf reprising her role or voice acting role for the game. Am really looking forward with all five parts complete and play it that way. Too tempting to play one episode after another and waiting.
Seeing how Telltale Games produced both Sam and Max The Devil's Playground and Tales of Monkey Island, and both were awesome games, Back to The Future: The Game is equaly awesome. Im just waiting for all the 5 games to be launched at PS Store so i can buy them all at once.
Yep, that is what I am doing. Bought the 5 episodes for $20 and awaiting each month when a new episode comes out and going to play it all at once when the series is complete out on PSN Store. Big fan of BTTF series and can't wait to play it!
