Hi everyone! I know a lot of you have made the download and have decided to explore the game Free Realms for PlayStation. I personally have downloaded it and have given it a try and find there are some very interesting things about the game. I thought it might be nice to have a place for those interested in the game to have discussions about it. I would also hope to keep the thread on topic – after all this is a website about Home – that discussions also touch on the pros and cons of the service and in particular what we might actually like to see adopted in Home. We all know that Home isn't perfect and we can certainly learn somethings by looking at what other games are doing. i for one wouldnt mind seeing the player's Free Realms character, especially if they chose a pixie, become a companion in Home. wouldnt be right for all to recieve the companion if those that chose the human character and it should only unlock after reaching a decent level in Free Realms. I wish I can use my Art_of_Ronin ID in Free Realms, but instead I have to stick with my burger joint name (Tyrell Whitecastle) ..LMAO! Free Realms indeed is a step away from HOME and being engaging with Quest based character leveling up + social network engagement on the go. Did I mention you can actually jump and swim?..LOL..
Yeah, its certainly refreshing seeing MMO social network avatar able to jump and swim. Its funny too when seeing other user's avatar hop around and when they lag with connection ..Appear and reappear at random interval..
I'll try and find a little time this weekend to get on. I have Tomb Raider Legend I'd like to make some progress on, would like to play a little UC2 and of course Home.
Does this include playing it on a real computer also, even after paying membership through PSN? And how about purchasing FR money?
The game is completely separate from the pc version, so a ps3 account membership can't be used on PC and as it uses the psn wallet for purchased content the FR cash cards you can buy in stores are only for use with the pc version, the good thing is most items can be bought using in game coins which are easily enough earned (especially if you get a lot from the daily wheel spin thing) Also just a few tips, click L3 to toggle the chat log and when full push left and right to view the chat types, there are 5 logs, All- contains all chat, Guild- chat to guild members only, Area- only people in the surrounding area see this chat, Trade- use this chat if you want to trade items with people and LFG (looking for guild)- use this if you're looking to join a guild.
Free Realms will always be there for you and you can come back at any time. I also have loads of game to play and complete as well and DLCs to try. So take your time and enjoy it.
Mine is downloaded and needs to be installed - free basic. I'll have to think of a name so then I'll contact you whenever I buy the lifetime membership later.

I was Kade Zephyr(something), I don't remember but 24 hours passed and "Kane" was accepted so that ID floats above my head. I don't know how to join a guild yet. I added friends? but have no idea if it even sent requests to you guys. I have the free version. Doesn't seem like a lot to become a lifetime member, but I will wait anyway. I'm not to sure about this new world. LONG 800 MB download! I think people should know that going in. And the download runs when the game is booted. So you can't do anything else or the download stops. Some pro's and cons I've noticed for anyone interested: PRO: Ability to jump and swim More variety in eye and hair color a built in way to earn coins that's alot of fun different jobs and ways to level up tons of ingame jobs to earn spending coins missions to earn rewards and coins emotes and text chat Con: Slow first download of 800mb that ties up your ps3 for a long time Slow startup everytime afterwards too (but you get pretty music) You can't reach Lev 5 in any job without membership. And your prevented from being a ninja (or whatever job is leveled up) unless you buy membership. Only a few different faces to chose from really sucks. Gender and skin color are permanently locked. To change eye or hair requires a little real money. Not quite free. Some is free. Some still requires money. It's like Aurora in it's approach to charging you. spell check seems to work opposite of Home. It APPROVES words then prints them, then censors. So typos will be more of a problem. it's a bit expensive to buy purchasables flaming swords look cool when you buy them, but then the flame dissipates and it's some balls glowing in a line. It's okay, but flame is weak. Also the same for the prisma sword. I'm ticked I can't use the weapons I PAID for now because my level is too high. My jobs are LOCKED without membership. Text chat is VERY difficult. Requires a L2 press before every line of text. Censoring of text chat is extreme. Only certain words are allowed. Typos are censored. Anyways, I'm Adam Hawkriver if you can find me. ^^;
Trophies require a membership purchase, If you mean will you automatically earn trophies you've already met the requirements for before the purchase, it should do so, I'd say it's worth the purchase for almost half the cost of a retail game Just wonder when their 1st ps3 event will be, and I'm not sure if events may require the membership but I don't think they do. In terms of "real cash purchases" I'll probably just get the membership and maybe a pet.
Do you think Free Realms will come with a PS3 disc, just like DCOU before? Last time, DCOU had the free download from PS Plus members before the disc game came out. Maybe the same can be said for this one?
That might happen. But it really would be complete conjecture to even guess... Except discs are locked data, while downloads can be continually updated. So maybe that's a factor. Who knows... I think the way your level is capped at 4 and how it won't let you play at a job at all bites like ####. That and the very difficult chat is a big turn off. I think both can be easily fixed. But again, it's a wild guess to predict what will happen.
One thing that I noticed is that when you go to buy clothes (I haven't yet, just looking) you have about ten color options to choose from. I think that would be good for Home too, way better then "new, re-colored" items. . Have Fun, Boomer, FR name Erika Appleblossom
