That's really noble of them! It's good to see something positive in what's pretty much a hugely negative disaster. There's a lot of good will, But the news from fukushima is so depressing and SCARY to hear each day.
I'm positive there's lots of companies (even video game manufacturers like Capcom) in Japan that are doing the same to raise enough money to help reconstruct Japan itself. Even Toro Station weekly this week was interviewing Koei's Dynasty Warriors 6, and also mentioned about the Pacific Ocean Aid campaign to donate for the Toro and Kuro theme for free. It's also very nice to have any game like that to take notice of the disaster and donate if you can. I wonder if Koei will donate from the sale also?
Recca, I posted a few post back that Koei will be donating the sales for some virtual items. Here's a list of some companies that donated. Not up to date though. Google Translate Sony has been donating alot. They already donated 300 million yen and 30000 radios previously, but recently added 50 million batteries, 125 TVs, 1200 blankets and 400 DVDs to it's list.
FF, Perhaps you posted in the wrong thread? I really hate these different preorder stuff from stores.
Yeah, I read your post, Faga. It's great news from Koei that they're helping too. Sony's really pulling it through also. Wow! EDIT: Speaking of Koei, I found out I had 1000 yen left over (I actually had 1800, but Toro Weekly already used my 800 surprisingly tonight!), and so I gotten all the other male outfits from the sale - maybe help them with Japan itself too. No time like the present, right? I'm ordering 3000 yen now for this coming month. Hopefully, Japan Home won't have too many event buy-in items to make me loose all of it too quickly.
Hmm... Irem canceled another project. BUMPY TROT2 OFFICIAL HOMEPAGE This makes me worried. They canceled most of their projects and also stopped production with their previous "Disaster Report" series. Rumors are spreading that Irem may get out of the game business. Hope it's not true. Crossing fingers.
*retracts question*never mind I googled it, looks like it would have been a good game and wow it was announced almost 5 years ago, and I hope they don't stop making games, I haven't played any but they all look like pretty decent games and with Irem being the producer of so much great content for Japan home that will be a huge loss there as well.
That is definitely not good, I really hope Irem doesn't plan on stopping game production. If they do, its possible they might stop supporting Home as well with items, spaces, and events. If they were to stop is there a chance all Irem content in all regions might be pulled?
Yup, I'm a dodo.... ^^ btw, I'm not surprised that Irem decided to cancel all their projects for a few months. It's hard for an artist to be creative under catastrophic circumstances. And it's bound to effect everyone employed there. I'm sure their productivity has declined noticeably during the last weeks. As a company they might have believed it would be unrealistic for them to try and meet their deadlines for this year. Same thing happened after 9-11 to some projects I was interested in. But when you get down to it, sooner or later you have to work again. And it's hard to believe they suddenly are all going to become car factory workers or something. So I'm sure they are going to try and continue doing something they all find fullfilling and profitable.
Oh, Hudson's Elemental Monsters lounge should be coming tomorrow, unless it gets delayed again at the last minute. Also, they're planning to release the game for US sometime in April. If it does, then there's a high chance the lounge will come to US.
Faga, I do agree with Firefly about Irem. It is very understandable why they needed to cancel or postpone the projects they were working on due to the crisis at hand these past few weeks, but I highly doubt they will be out of business. I'm certain they'll resurrect the projects again (maybe some or all) once things become clearer once Japan is out of danger. Honestly though, since Irem had to cancel this years April Fools' event, it would've been better to have last year's rewards, armor, weapons, and stuff out in the Irem core spaces for sale - perhaps having it on by one day like it was, so then everyone would grab anything they needed to have had last year, but lucked out. That would be awesome...
Recca, It's understandable to delay and cancel a few stuff, but they went way overboard and canceled almost all of it's projects that they were working on. (not delaying it, completely canceling it) Dumping a project cost money. Especially for a project that was near release. Or it could be a tactic though. Alot of people have been buying Irem stuff due to the cancellation announcements and speculation that Irem may go bankrupt.
Info on the elemental monsters space, looks quite interesting Google Translate the new elemental monster items look strange but interesting too http://playstationhome.jp/market/threads/elemental.html also the capcom lounge getting an update Google Translate looks like theres a quiz with a reward there. other content new this week to japan are the lockwood kittens and cucumber furniture range, codeglue clothing and Ndreams mobster outfits
Rachel, your first link is called Elemental Monster Lounge. The Second is ......well, I'll let someone else translate it. But seems like google says. Just wanted to let you guys know, the new magic symbols for sale in the mall are NOT named after days of the week as google translates it. The translation is something like "Elemental Monster Sorcerer -_____" And the types are: Red is Fire magic. Blue is Water. Green is Tree. Purple is Dark. Gold is Light. The third mentions something about a "Capcom Alphabet Quiz". A quiz in groups of 5. Hmmmm.... looks like it will be hard for non-japanese to do. When you guys go there, please, everyone please be polite and don't constantly screw it up for the japanese who are there just so YOU can get the reward. No need to tick off the locals at us. think how much frustration you would have if a bunch of, idunno, guys who only speak french who kept blowing your chance to win some group quiz in NA. I'm sure people here will tell you how to win in a day or two.
yes need to buy 300 yen crowd to play quiz ^^ aslo free magic thing from monster space ^^ prize for capcom quiz is mini capcom girl so pet so cute so worth 300 yen for crown
Just picked up the crown, not gonna play yet until I know how it works and what the answers are to whatever questions there might be. I don't want to piss off the locals because I don't understand japanese lol.
