Hmm... JP Home's status due to earthquake PlayStation®Home ƒIƒtƒBƒVƒƒƒ‹ƒTƒCƒg Basically it says: Service will stay on, but anything planned to be released on the 17 will be delayed. The Macross Rental rewards will also be delayed from it's initial March 22nd date. Further details will come at a later date. Oh, by the way, if there's someone that still wants the rewards for the rental please contact me. I'll be planning to do it tomorrow midnight PST. Sorry bout the short notice, was busy with the earthquake stuff.
Interesting.....so the content update for this week in Japan is being pushed back to the 24th? Or will Home just at a later that time on the 17th? And will this affect other region updates by pushing those as well?
Probably other regions won't be affected, since the servers are in EU. It seems JP side are holding back on stuff (Home, PS Store, etc) and alot of stuff are pushed to a further date. This is probably due to alot of businesses not operating normally in Japan right now. Don't know if it's coming on the 24th though. They say they will announce it later. Also, Irem has canceled Zettai Zetsumei Toshi 4(The Desperated City 4). There was rumors that they were having something related to this for the April 1 event. This may get canceled also, but don't take my word on this. It's just rumors.
Cripes, I really hope that isn't true :/ Thanks for the info regardless, good to know ahead of time before anything just happens.
I really hope April 1 don't get cancelled. I was definitely looking forward to it. But very understandable in current circumstances. thanks for letting us know, Faga. I'm glad you and your family are safe.
btw Aet, Usually if you have to start off "Not to be rude" or something similiar, you really should rethink the words you are choosing because chances are they probably sound alot harsher to someone else than what you intend. Plus your natural posting style often sounds a bit aggressive and argumentative at times. ^^
FevaArena had such an event for fundraising. PS Home in Japan (and in HK Home) offered an African doll ornament for 50 yen to use as a fundraiser in giving soccer balls to South African children to inspire them to be soccer players and to be healthy and happy. Not only do we keep the doll, but we get 2 male and female Sony shirts for our avatars for pitching in. But, the result from that was that they gotten over 30,000 soccer balls to those kids from our currency (including mine in both Asian regions). So, there were no "weasel" words to inspire us. Moreover, our cause was a good cause to them and Sony made it right.
Thank you, FF. What you say is very true. @Recca - I really hope Sony does something to allow for donations. Even after the immediate crisis is over, the process of rebuilding is going to take a great deal of time. Entire cities have been destroyed. Survivors are going to be permanently displaced in many cases. Entire industries have been disrupted. The nuclear energy isssue is one which Japan will have to revisit. Making an item or items available in all 4 regions for purchase as a charitable donation would seem to be the easiest way to allow for donations given the existing state of PS Home development. Personally though, in the interest of saving time and development costs, I'd be fine with a simple donation form being made available in the Navigator of all 4 Home regions, with 100% of the funds raised going towards Japan relief efforts.
Hi Everyone, does anyone remember code to Japan Spelunker cave for free kimono? I thought it was the number old man gave 50501065, but it did not work. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks
Yeah that was a good thing Recca. Sadly, when approached to do something similar for the Hati earthquake victims, Sony fell silent. However, this IS Japan. So it is highly likely Sony will pitch in. Whether or not we get to participate via Home remains to be seen.
Sorry. I can't find it. It was a date like 07062009 or maybe 06072009? Good luck. Oops. I'm thinking of the old code? The code 50501065 is also mentioned here: * Play the spelunker mini game - when you get to the area with the shopping area (after the boulder) - activating one of the statues allows entry of an 8-digit numeric code. Enter 20090706 to get the yukatas. Talking to the old guy in the caves gives you the code 50501065 - not sure what this gives you - maybe a tshirt? Hadn't figured that one out yet...
This is the only info I can find about sony offering help basically states that they'll be giving 300 million yen to the relief effort along with 30,000 radios. nintendo are also donating 300 million yen, and namco bandai are donating 100 million yen plus suspending services to conserve energy
Thank you karen. we all appreciate your heartwarming msgs. One of ways, see below. https://www.paypal-donations.com/pp-charity/web.us/campaign.jsp?cid=-12
I actually have some insider information about this, Karen. After the Haiti earthquake I thought it would be a cool idea for Home to offer a shirt where the proceeds would go to charity for Haiti. I tossed the idea in NA, but no bite. But Thylauder got a hold of me, and was trying to make it happen. But after a few weeks, there were too many legal obstacles. I suppose some lawyers were afraid if they took the money, they could be sued if they couldn't use the money effectively. (That's my guess). He asked me to not mention it in public while they were trying to do this, because fan passions can be a double edged sword. But now that a year has passed, and Thylauder has left, I feel it's okay to talk about it. Anyways, this is the shirt design I made L'union fait la force is the official motto of Haiti. It means "unity is strength". I thought that was very apropos to the fundraising effort. The colors are from the Haitian Flag. There's a haitian flag on the sleeve. And a home logo in haitian colors on the front. The color separation is slightly tilted as a motif reflecting the earthquake that hit.
20090706 works Recca. I just did it just now on a spare acct to test for you. Are you sure you are at the right statue? It's the statue deep inside the minigame. To the left of the door that won't open. or are you talking something else? Sorry, if I'm reading this wrong. I know you usually are much more up to date with rewards than I am....
No, I know what you're talking about - the left statue where i gave the number to unlock the spelunker kimono. But, somehow the statue is not letting me do that again - putting in the other number, I mean.
