More Home Maintenance Today 12/20/14

Home indeed is currently down again for "essential maintenance". Wonder what updates they borked during the many attempts over the past week?

Home went down at the exact second SCEE noted in the previous link: 11:00a GMT or locally for me at 3:00a PST. Just wish it had waited a few moments so I could get my challenge credit for the newest Orson update (quest #3 – A Full Heart -–went live a couple hours earlier).

And couldn't SCEE have provided more than 6 mins. advanced warning? Or even a quick message popup within Home itself stating:

went to log on and updated to 1.85. let it download and install and come back to see how far it got and got to "Home is down for essential maintenance".

 

Good timing… was going to report the same. The 1.85 client went "live" ~45m ago — your PS3 insists on updating — but it can't due to ongoing maintenance. My shortest message ever?)

i hopped into Edo yesterday to see if the sun and moon actually moved and to my 'shock', they did. but, i locked-up when the sun was about 99.9% above the horizon. least to say, i wasn't very happy about it, having to manually shut off my ps3 and 'send in a notice about it locking up' (sometimes i get to send in a report, other times the ps3 turns on straight to the user selection menu)

Winter-revised Great Edo of Nippon was already up for a short while before Home downtime. All dar, snowing, and snow piles everywhere. Quite nice! (Just one minor issue – isn't there always? — the dolls in the Shooting Gallery are nearly invisible in the dark. All the Edo lanterns are lit and glowing, but they don't seem to give off proper light casting… :|

South Island Hideaway has also already gone a bit festive. No snow, but always nighttime with that gorgeous starfield up above. And that certain flying fat man can be spotted in the sky if you look carefully (and I don't mean Vladimir Harkonnen. More like Krampus, just not evil. I think.).

as long as I completed the elf game in both region before another crazy maintenance.
oh well, I know they trying to fix the problem hard, wish them have a bit more luck
to nail the root of the problem.

navi is actually loading faster today than it did yesterday.
Southern Island Hideaway starts loading normally but promptly goes 'black' after the "opening" scene. a reload into another space (your apt, some other public pad) and a reload of Hideaway fully loads it.

 

Ooos. Forgot about that bug feature. That's not a new after-sudden-maintenance thing… it was like that when it went live last night. Just a black void filled with the floating user IDs of the conflustered masses…

And a faster Nav you say? Good!!!

just entered NA & realized that myself. No install occurred, contrary to the prompt from early thus morning. It just worked when I clicked it.

FYI, my Home client does show v1.85 on the info screen. Wonder how it got installed then?
