R1 blocks and it almost nullifies damage completely with the metal rod. You wear the armor for the extra attack, the extra defense barely helps.
R1 is block. And if you press a direction left or right, it rolls. OH, and pressing L3 (click) causes you to squat when you move around. Which is totally useless. And will get you killed cause you can't move around well like that.
I noticed a big jump going from NO ARMOR to just the Torso Armor. But adding helmet, legs, and feet armor didn't really add much to that. I've discovered I like playing with zero armor and the black metal rod and the Edo Apartment free healing. Much more fun. And easy to do.
Are you talking about the "Demon Cutter Yorimitsu Sword"? That sword was originally released with this event. But it was defective. Granzella wasn't able to fix it in time. So they removed it from the marketplace. Edit: Oh nvm. I see what you mean.
My guess would be yes considering how Granzella releases things. Always best to wait with their stuff because undoubtedly something better will be available soon after the initial release.

Guessing it'll be stronger attack wise but won't have metal rod's uber defense when blocking. Gran does a decent job of keeping the weapons balanced. Metal is super strong but makes you slow and all your attacks have large amounts of cooldown.

The armor defense will be lower than the Dokuganryu, but can cut about 40% damage from Ogre attacks. No word on attack bonus. The spears are categorized the same as the Naginata and does about 1.4x more damage against Ogre than Naginata(34 attack). So that probably means about 47 attack by that explanation. It 'll also gives 1.35x bonus points. FYI, the rods stats are 43/101 or 53/106 (vs standard/vs Ogre). Gives 1.2x bonus points. Not sure on the sword since it didn't give the extra attack vs Ogre, but had 34 as it's standard attack. Gives 1.1x bonus points.
They look like axes but are categorized as spears, so most probably have the same motion as the Naginata.
Looks like I'll need to see the stats before picking one up, and see who has what the most. Should I just stick with the Dokuganryu?
We just need to wait till it's release to know the full stats. It could be that the new weapons can't block damage like the rods, so that's were the 40% cut armor comes in handy.
The new armor looks good. I don't mind spending for that one, even with low defense. When will NA Home be getting the demon cutter sword and the Boy's Day armor display set? We haven't gotten those yet.

Halberds is good for coming down like a guillotine on the enemy's head while you are behind protection. Btw, I'm a little behind Recca. Currently 119th. I just started myself, Firefly, but had a HDD issue. Not fun while you're getting points during an event, especially freeze-ups or if it's not loading up properly. Didn't see what rank I'm in, but I'm already like 26K points I think.
