Sorry, Kitty, looks like I edited that part out. Yes, code sharing is banned and will get you booted from the forums. Talking about other regions, no, they seem to be relying upon "gentle persuasion" right now. lol
lol the funny thing about it is between xi and codes are the reason i joined the ps forums. cause before then i had never even thought about those forums.
I was working with Chad on ideas how to make a twitter network to share codes instantly, etc... But I dont tweet enough and it sounds good but doesnt look like it would work.
It's pritty easy to do something like that to be true, eg this forum auto sends tweets when a new thread is posted and you can also set up tweet feeds of rss. So in that thinking you could make a code share forum and link a tweet feed to that forums rss that will tweet feeds to a twitter id. Personal i would block posting of new threads in that forum to a set group of people to post codes into, or else you risk people spamming fake codes.
it does sound like a good idea kitty. although i have never been on tweeter or ever plan to be lol. look on the bright side atleast it wasn't a jolt cola night rofl
Why the idea is good and it can be set up real easy, the main problem is, its only really now and then codes come out and you be putting alot of trust into people to use it in the right manner.
that is very true carla, but i do have to say for the most part people on home do help and give the right codes out or atleast will tell you where to find the codes.
well remember when the special / secret star wars tweet codes happened.. the guy from lucas arts used 'tweetdeck' to remotely tweet the codes out.. Still.. it would need to be a thread restricted to registered users.. But if you say it would work ... i never had to do something like this on PHPBB so honestly dont know if it would work properly or be a spam filter issue... Ideas I have... Using them... meh
Well if PHPBB supports rss feeds for single forums you can use like http://twitterfeed.com/ to setup a feed of new threads made from that forum.

I just read Amir's thread on the HOME section... If Im reading it right his reason to leave was tied to the Mods dispensing unfair punishments without due process What in the hell is going on there im not getting the impression any real 'changes' have happened just regression more and more..
He made a post explaining how to use "mod type" features built into the Jive software. Sony is at fault for releasing the software in the condition it's in, not only buggy and lacking basic forum functions, but also riddled with security holes. But Amir is also at fault, because he's clearly no dummy and should have known better.
... yes but if the door is open you have to assume its there to walk through... I mean its like the old saying: "You leave a gun laying on a table with a child by the table do you really thing the childs not going to use it?" Still from the postings they could have admitted they were at fault and simply advised him not to use it, etc. Threats of punishment, etc is excessive... I mean it sounded like what got me banned when mohawk.. they seem more prone to "Guilty first till proven innocent"...
Kitty, he's no child. He's very intelligent, and the way he went about things was extremely questionable. I saw the post he made, but I can't comment any further because I'd be giving out info that shouldn't be made public. He obviously hasn't been banned. If he really cared about the forums it seems to me he would stay instead of leaving. There are many people who have been given reason to leave, including myself, but we're still there fighting to make things better.

I dunno, but Mohawktown isn't a programmer, so he's really not in a position to promise anything. It seems to me that as time goes by they're discovering more and more problems with the software, so that's obviously not moving them in the right direction at all.

Funny enough before i saw those posts I kept wondering why when I tried to logon I was being redirected to the sony logon page and couldnt even see guest view... Oddly if your banned or suspended.. and logon fails it sets a cookie that instantly redirects you to the logon screen. A very nice way to say 'stay out'. I had to clear my cookies to get Guest view.. but if i try just one logon attempt.. it constantly kicks me into that logon screen loop. Oddly it seems like the cookie isnt a 1 or 7 day cookie either...
Does going to the login screen kick you or just trying to login with your username/password? You could always try making another account if it is just your username/password that gives you the boot and not the actual login screen by itself.
