Folks: Just now I posted my praise for Digital Leisure's outstanding service for the Home Casino space. As a contrast, I have to also post my disappointment with Veemee for their abject silence on the problems with their new Go Fish space. As many of you are aware, the game in the Go Fish space seems to be experiencing a serious problem: game objects previously earned (such as upgraded rods and lures) have disappeared from player records. While we all should be understanding about bugs, what we should NOT be so understanding about is Veemee's silence on this bug. According to Joystick_Warrior on the official Home Forums, the bug was SUPPOSEDLY passed on to Veemee yesterday AM. But so far -- no resolution, and no response. If this is the customer service we should expect from a $6.99 purchase, it does not bode well for Veemee. It'd be different if all sales were NOT final. But since they ARE final, this incident will make me think twice before purchasing anything else from Veemee.
Given the problems the space appears to have in the EU you would think that they would at least fix it before releasing it here in North America. That certainly doesn't appear to be the case. In my view there is no excuse for that.
Hiya Supa! Sorry to hear about the issues you're experiencing. At least you know Veemee has been informed. Unfortunately some companies don't have very good communication with their customers (coughsonycough). I'm not sure it's entirely accurate to say all sales are final though since I've read of times people did get their money back for Home purchases. I've been thinking twice and thrice about Home purchases for some time now.
I know EXACTLY what you're talking about. I too unlocked both of the upgrade fishing rods earlier today. But the fish I had caught did NOT show up in my fish tank. Fast forward to about an hour and a half ago. I come back on Home, go to my space. The fish DOES show up in my fish tank (Hooray!!!) but now my two upgraded fishing rods are gone (WTF!!?) VEEMEE really need to get this taken care of if they wish to keep us as loyal customers.
Joanna: Not that it's your fault or responsibility ... but I wish I had known about the EU issues with the space beforehand. OTOH my problem is the "silence". Trillian: I need to get out more! Personally, I've never heard of anyone getting a refund on a Home purchase! But with regard to your "whooping cough" inference ... if Sony were as quick to respond to problems as they are locking multiple threads on this issue, I'd be much less critical.
We had this bug not long after it arrived in EU, the same exact bug! It was weeks before they had a fix published for it. Not once since this was announced have they even replied about guest rewards(Which there are none) so not answering for this or other bugged spaces like the London pub is not unusual for them. They're not into responding for anything, I've sent many Email's about various topics and never any reply.
....and when you think about it, it's not a real smart idea for upstart developers who are trying to gain a foothold and establish a reputation in the industry. I'd like to see a small business in the real world try to get off the ground by ignoring their customers. The difference is that with Home, these online developers (and Sony themselves) are essentially inaccessible to their paying customers so they don't have to worry about someone walking into their store or office to demand a refund or explanation for a faulty product or whatever. I have often wondered if Sony actually prefers (or maybe even stipulates in some way) that Home developers have as little interaction as possible with their customers--in the same way they do. To Sony, their customers are the outsiders...the dreaded "general public"--those who pose a threat to their secrecy if given too much information. Unfortunately, they are well beyond having to worry about losing a few customers no matter how they handle things, but that probably isn't the case for Home developers themselves. On a more positive note, what Digital Leisure is doing in terms of staying in touch with their customers regularly is something we really haven't seen to this point in Home....and the reaction that I have seen speaks volumes about how much of a difference it makes and how much people appreciate it. I am kind of concerned that they are being a bit over-ambitious at this point (like making suggestions that they will look into getting missing rewards to individual ID's) and they may get a rude awakening when they try to fix or update something quickly, but I give them credit for trying and hopefully we will see more of this in the future from companies like Veemee and others. Btw, I do love Home, YPSH and all of the friends I have made on both of them. :tomato:
We all love home, thats why we are passionate about the place, there are no negative comments as long as they are based in fact in the first place If we as a community allow it go on then every developer will copy the next one, so if we allow developers to release poor product whether that be the product is just rubbish or its full or errors, and dont voice our opinions then it wont iu change, im always once bitten twice shy so if a developer does have issues, whether they product is rubbish, full of errors, they are too greedy or have tried conning the community , I with my friends tend to steer clear of they shops and spaces. I know rubbish product is in the eye of the beholder but id be refering to product like clothes that just bleed into everything else available so theres nothing you can really wear it with. Full of errors not a few un assuming errors but hard drive, game or account killing errors, greed and conning, if one developer can do it the rest will follow, we already started to see other developers follow the paint something gold and charge more for it idea, if the majority decide they can get away with a higher average price they will charge it, so tolerating one developer doing it, expect others to follow and all we can do as a community is vote with our money and time and not spend either with the developers that are like this, and of course make our opinions known
It's really weird because a friend played Go Fish recently for the first time in EU and he got extra fish appearing in his list! He just caught one of the second category fish, and when he checked his list three or four of them were displayed as unlocked.
This space really should have been released as an arcade cabinet. The personal space is a waste of pixels.
They really could have just given the tank and allowed for play from it, it looks as if that was what they planned at first but when they brought it here they had to force an apartment that you really don't need on you. They should have put the game in pier park and allowed for play there, charge a ticket to play the game to get the rewards and be done with it.
Wow, I'm glad I didn't have funds to get that space. *whispers "Wrecked Wednesday." and vanishes into the night*
I wonder what the customer service department at one's bank might do if a complaint was filed on their end. Many credit card agreements include an implied warranty for all purchases. If one was to report that the item did not function as advertised prior to the transaction, the bank might issue a conditional refund pending an investigation. It would work if you ordered an actual product that was not delivered as promised and contact with the vendor had failed to resolve the situation. Would the banks not handle a Home transaction in the same way? You've basically purchased a software program that was broken and contact with the vendor (i.e. the support forum) had not resolved the issue in a timely manner. Just a thought.
Wouldnt agreeing to Sony's terms and conditions absolve them from giving a refund if they choose not to?
Do Sony's terms and conditions absolve them of responsibility for selling products that do not work? I doubt it. I'm sure that you couldn't expect a refund because of buyer's remorse but the product is certainly expected to function properly. If Sony sells a personal space under the premise that you can play a game and win rewards, then they're the ones violating the terms if the space fails to work properly.
VeeMee isn't a new and upstart company. Other than their successful Bill-a-Bong licensed virtual items and free EU movie avatar costumes, they have neglected their dismal or half-ass Diesel licensed store and virtual space. Like Hopper said, they had never had to deal with Home users and refuse to interact with public. I doubt they will ever fix their Go Fish space and find Joy Stick Warrior, a waste of resources, won't accomplish anything.
They keep saying that the Waterfall fishing game is fixed but it still doesn't work for me, even after I delete the save file for the space. Why would I buy a new apt for another broken fishing game? The Winter Wonderland is the only fishing game that seemed to work for me...
