I see it in the complete opposite way. The spaces should be released in the US because those 80% of American users you say that don't know Japanese culture. This is a great way to learn and gain interest in things that are different. You shouldn't exclude people because they have never seen something. This is the perfect way to teach and have fun. OT - Has anyone made any video of the space yet?[/QUOTE] dont mention to granzella that we could learn something while there, they will charge to get in lol
They could sell us encyclopedias that we will have to gather facts for. Then the complete ones will be displayed in the Japanese Cultural Center personal space. Oh I can't wait!

Well to back on the topic at hand. The "Noon Downtown" lounge in Japan home is quite a nice lounge, I'll admit...Granzella has did a great job of capturing Japan nightlife into a little pixel lounge. However, there is a few bugs here and there and I'd say this server and if anyone else has been there as much as I have will agree the lag in that place is terrible. It's not a lag that just pops up when you got www, or hdd..it's a lag that will continue to stay and make it quite a challenge sometimes using a keyboard to talk to other home users in the server..as well as it seems to be more laggy when more people are there. But either way, if you thought Southern Island was bad for lag...Downtown has it pretty beat in that department. I hope they'll fix it later. My best advice, and this is just my opinion..the store where you use happy points to buy items is a very limited selection to begin with. The suit, along with the Bunny suits are basically like the IREM content...so if you're looking for something different, I would pass on those because there's not much a difference..besides the bunny ears are different looking this time around. The dresses are most expensive item in the selection, and are new items to PlayStation Home Japan..meaning there not on another server, IREM never had dresses like that, and the content cannot be bought with YEN. As well as the other items in the store there. The cooking and serving game can be a little confusing at first, but you do not need to know Japanese to play any of the games there. The arcade machine, vending, and as well as the game in the game room itself do take tickets that you do have to buy. Buying items from that server aren't needed, because you can still gain "In Game Money" to then buy food and drinks to earn happy points. Little note, it's easier to gain "In Game Money" than it is happy points..so fare warning. The better your mood, the better "In Game Money" you'll receive when serving food and drinks. I'd assume it works the same way when using the money to buy food and drinks as well. There's also prizes that you can get for reaching I believe to be certain increment levels in your money slot. Or if it's not that, as another user on here said.. it could be that each prize comes from each game you play. There's also another game there, that will give you three little ornaments..so far I've only got three, and nothing else. But be ware, the game will direct you to another server depending on the color ball you get.
Thanks everyone for your help when I first played I thought it was impossible but with all your help I realised the serving game is not very hard at all. I think I got a reward and I'm guessing that it means you are levelling up, as I was able to serve 35 times instead of 30 when I got it. Also the training game is all well and good but it doesn't give you many points compared to serving real customers, on the training game I would get 78 points max. serving real customers got me 600+ sometimes per serving.
The 3 rewards you mentioned from the lottery game looks like tissue wrappers with the Granzella spaces on them. I'm not sure what kind of ornaments are those. I also unlocked both wall hangings for the restaurant and the bar. I'm very happy! ^^ My mood bar reached high enough when I came in, so I played around in the novice mode in the restaurant, and then start to host. I've reached from level 10 to around level 8 afterwards and gotten the reward. But, my mood bar wasn't too happy at all, so I used a ticket on the vending machine for instant super-happy, went to the bar, and waited for someone to get out of hosting. I ordered drinks for a few customers, but was near the end that I've gotten the reward from there.
It's called Gallapon (or Garagara) lottery. These are usually used in special events when you buy stuff at these shopping malls and earn tickets to do the lottery. (Something like, earn 1 ticket for each 100yen, collect 10 tickets and you can do 1 drawing). You turn the wheel and 1 color comes out. It has several color balls in it and you win the item depending on the color. Usually it has something like 1st to 5th place (sometimes up to 10th) and a common award which usually are tissues similar to the picture below. These tissues usually have ads on the back. The Granzella gives you 1st, 2nd, and the common prizes. (1st, 2nd are trips, but for somewhat reason gives you tissues also) The rest have been already taken by someone as you can see the already taken sign on the other prizes (当選済み)
I read through this thread and wasn't seeing anyone write out how to play either of those games. Would someone kindly explain, as fully as you can, how to play the fishing game and the food game? Thanks!

Here is some simple instructions from Recca that may help on the fishing game Trill. Btw, the woman in the center of the space is where you can turn in points for rewards (1st menu option). The dojo personal space is only 20 so its easy to get. Also, the tickets that cost 5 are for one-time trials of the rods and baits that you can purchase so I would play first and get used to it before using those. If I can think of an easy way to word the instructions for the food game in new space I will add it lol Its not as hard as I thought it was going to be, thanks to some direction from Dan. Cast and watch your bait until it completely disappears into the water and hit X when you do. After it says "Fish On!", you'll enter a circle playing field. Just hold the lure piece (buying it is a good idea to see where the lure easily) in the center circle as best you can using your left analog controller. Larger ones will tend to get tricky. What your aim is is to drain the "fish" life bar down to nothing and hit X to catch it. You'll also get a stun option, so whenever the background person goes, "Yooo...", it means it's ready. You can hit square at anytime to stun the "fish" and move it to the center circle. Stuns vary on the "fish", so be careful. Using either the spiked clubbed pole or the other special pole has two abilities: the first one has only two stuns and has a bigger radius in the center, and the other one has 3 stuns and a smaller circle area. You can play around with both to see which ones you like best. (don't know why it went to bold font here but I cant change it lol)
Back to the subject of the Neon Town Granzella, I just received a new reward when playing host to my oden hut tonight. It's the same picture but this time instead of a 2, it has a 3 besides the kanji. I didn't play it again to see if the rounds were bumped up to 40, but I would assume it would. I'm also assuming these are promotions given to you when you raise enough money, sort of like a level up experience like in the RPG games. I'm not sure how far the levels go in these promos but I'm assuming up to level 5 - perhaps giving you 50 rounds per hosting. Anyways, I found the pachinko machine to be quite addicting. I loved it. A good time to use my tickets and getting around 3600 happy points. I've learned how to play it through practice, and it's a lot of fun. I also used my ticket on the fruit arcade machine, but due to the people around the space, it started to go slow. I could probably see why a few people were able to get higher scores.
Thanks so much Hopper! I was hoping there'd be someone willing to think of others and to help them. riginal: Wish someone knew how to play the food game too.
Trillian there really isn't much to the game at all, when you are serving, you want to pay attention and when you see the photo of the food/drink come up you have to remember the letters in yellow that go with it because in the next step you have to repeat it back, if you get it right the customer can give you a higher level which means that you'll get more points, and they'll get more happy points. Also you'll want the bar on the lower left of your screen as full as possible. Every serving spot has a a training area to the side I recommend playing there until you feel comfortable, then you can serve real customers because that's where the big points are made. Those points you can use to order food and drinks which give you happy points that you will be able to use to trade for rewards. Hope that helps.
I'm having trouble getting up to level 12 when I'm hosting. The highest I've ever gotten was at Level 11, but even after hosting, I get bumped by another person who wants in. I'm not sure if mixing up the hosting jobs will effect the mood meter and mood arrow.

I found something strange. Still wearing my head wrap, red shirt (Niku - means "Meat"), and black pants with the apron on, I took a few drinks from the vending machine and experimented. Seems like I can go to level 12, if I'm quick enough to host, on the oden huts and the restaurant. But, the bar seems to let me stay at level 10, even when I'm extremely happy and my bar is totally filled up. Could the shirts and apron play a key factor after all? I need to know what the shirts and pants says, and if the stats effect the place you host at.
Thanks a lot for helping Dan! Wish I could be here enough to keep up with all the chat speak and not have to ask for help here in the open but that's the way it is sorry to say.
