I agree with Kindle, 22 slots for one active item is absolutely ridiculous. I wonder if in the future there will be any way to get more than 4 active items.
The reason an active item takes so many slots is due to "layering". Not every active item uses the alotted 22 slots, but PSH doesn't determine how many a certain item uses, so it defaults it to the maximum value. On a side note: if you can't use Z-axis targeting to "glitch" to locations previously unreachable, how are we supposed to navigate the Rapture apartment?
think of it this way, an active item uses more computer memory than a standard chair or table item. So it can do more things. If you decreased the number of slot it uses, then the programmers can't do as much with that. It's like saying your gasoline tank takes up too much space on your car. Sure you can lighten it and make it smaller, but then you can't go as far. BTW- They aren't really finding anymore memory to allocate to furniture. A full apartment today has 5o furniture and 2 actives that will take up 94 slots tomorrow. So tomorrow you will only be able to add 6 more furniture to an apartment that is full today. The main problem is the PS3 doesn't have enough memory and there is no way to add more.
I love the 100 item limit but having active items take up so many slots kind of defeats the upgrade. Some of my spaces have 2 actives so I only get 6 more items but I can live with that. They might be able to have the limit go up to 100 items plus 2 actives someday.
its more than just the 6 extra item limit, its how you distribute your furniture, say if you have the zombie apartment and you wanted to scare the you know whats out of people, best things to do that are active items and the space is no where near big enough for 100 items or even 50 items really but now, 4 of the scariest active items in there, love it
Well this is lovely. I was in the middle of logging into NA Home and then I got a pop up saying that 1.60 is available for download. So I download it. It finishes downloading, and then tries to resume logging into home. But then it stops and gives me an error message saying "You must download the latest version in order to use home". I just did! Not 5 seconds ago. >_< I tried changing accounts, tried going on JP, and even restarted the PS3... and nothing. Wow...
Technically Homes servers are still running under the old version so that error will pop up until they get the correct version up and running, try again in about half an hour, it should then just give the maintenance message
"excellent now the dawn of a 100 soda cans my begin" <,..,< well I just downloaded the 1.60 and now I'm just waiting 4 them to switch it back on XP
I'm not too bummed out over the active items taking up so many slots. I don't use many of them and in some cases none of them. So no loss for me. Also, sometimes it's just the regular items that tend to be cooler than some of the active items, imo.
I agree, it's really annoying that I'm unable to take pictures with the companion included. Well, maybe next patch.
Agreed. Aside from the functionality of the telepads, I'm not sure that any active items are worth 22 regular ones in most situations.
home is getting better and better lately I loved the companion thing is great now, i feel like buying them all now xD i always wanted the extra furnature in my space ... and here is a dream that finallyreached the land of reality !! i start to love home even more now ...YESH!!!:data:
Just a quick note, Locust did say that "Currently all actives take up 22 furniture slots in the new system. Thus you can now place a variety of different combinations:" so maybe its just me being optimistic but I think that means some future items might take up less (or more). But then again that could take another three years =-P
I think that is a possibility. Right now this restriction is most likely in the engineering. Back end changes aren't as easy as changes on the application level. If we ever see this changed, expect it to be during a major patch.
I did notice one thing. Before when I could target one piece of furniture, then dpad left or right and target most everything in the apartment. That don't seem to work anymore.... Just tonight I went inside my batmobile. But once inside, I couldn't target any piece of furniture outside the batmobile. So I was stuck in there.
yeah had similar problem usually I turn the music on in my silicon lounge by doing the same trick, as its diesels AI bot it has no volume issues you hear it all over space but now I got to go to it to press play, bit of a pain when your other side of lounge, its that or go to furniture and place it near me. BTW surely your better off playing arkhum asylum or city if you wanna pretend you batman lol
