Hi everyone, I find this mind boggling. LootGear has removed the built in theater seating and sofa seating at the upstairs screens at Hollywood Hills. The EOD screens there are now showing a busy or occupied message. That message is also happening at the EOD screen at the Sunset Yacht. This is one of the best selling private spaces in North America. Most like me purchased it because of the theater and EOD functionality there. How they could make a change like this without notifying the community as to why is unacceptable. I have a feeling this is not going to be fixed without community outrage. At the least they need to offer those who want one a refund. I would recommend tweeting @Lootgear and posting your displeasure on their Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Loot-Gear/72935109787?sk=wall&filter=1 There is also an thread at the official forum where you might want to voice your displeasure. That thread is where the images are from. update on hollywood hills | PlayStation® Community Forums
People are two quick lately to make assumptions that changes done in HOME are permenant without letting developers explain things in their own time frame. Rather than attempt to rally users into another potential EA mob or rope speculation group it might be more prudent to ask "why" it's happening. Developers do things for reasons and a logical approach to query is bound to get a better response than one wrapped in emotional agitation. I learned that from a user who voiced their concern with the DJ studio was altered and inquired why with calm logic and was given a proper response in return by the developer.
I agree with others that like having them gone so we can customize the space with whatever seating we chose. Perhaps the best of both worlds would be to add some kind of user option that allows the owner to select the default seating, or to remove it. Or better yet, remove it, and give the owners of the space those individual furniture items to use as they wish. However, if the only choice is either to have the seating built-in or to have it removed I would vote for removal so people can customize the seating to their personal taste. Sure, this also means less items that can be added to the space due to the current 50 item limit, but life is full of compromises... and besides, maybe some day they'll expand the item limit... as well as the limit of active items - both of which sure seem to create a lot of angry outcries on the various Home forums.
Is this what yesterday's maintenance was about I wonder... I can confirm that the free furniture that Loot has on offer is only for owners of the Hollywood Hills personal space.
Right... but keep in mind everyone... Alot of people have forgotton a big fact. The remotes in the estate were fused to the coffee table and in the theater to the chairs. So if they are doing some maintenance to them it makes sense that that seating is gone. The error messages from the Yacht appear to validate my comments... its not permenant its some maintenance they are working on. Before people try to rally mobs into an assumption its permanent... we need to look at this and add up all the facts. Everything points that they are doing something and we just need to wait it out... If this was permanent the theater screen would be gone or it would have some generic placecard in its spot. People are just too eager lately to jump the gun. I made a similar comment on Facebook too.
They should have posted a clarification prior to doing this in my view at least. It does appear from a post by HearitWow that the seats may have been removed because the functionality was tied to them. They do need to make a statement about this to clarify it and I sincerely hope they will be replacing the seating which doesn't have a problem related to the screens. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say the removal of the furniture had something to do with the Loot Theater space crashing and not working after the update. Those seats controlled the theater. Considering that all of Loots theaters are connected, they might have removed it so you can at least use the personal space while the continue to fix the actual problem. Has anyone noted any problems with the Yacht? Those too are connected. Let's give them a couple of days before jumping the gun here. Too often do we go off on a wild tangent of speculation before we actually know why they did it.
That's what I was getting at in chatbox earlier Jo. However, it still doesn't excuse the lack of explanation from our trusty "Home Community Specialists". A simple explanation that would take 5 minutes could have helped to avoid and/or clarify all of this.....once again. I really wish they would just can those 2 clowns and get some people in there who are willing and able to keep an open dialogue with the community. They can take their buddy Conrad_Max with them wherever they go too lol
The EOD screens at Sunset Yacht are non-functional. It does appear from HearitWow's post that the fact that the remotes were tied to the seating is most probably the cause for their removal. I'm sorry but this should have been communicated to users before this happened. LootGear has a presence on the forum and they should have alerted the community about the reasons for this happening. The message of the day could also be used to communicate that to many who don't use the forums or other information outlets.
yh it stands to reason that its a problem with home again, everyone I know has an issue somewhere ranging from this massive muck up, to simple issues like heavy weapon not working missing rewards etc etc perhaps a few weeks with them just using regular maintenance time to sort issues rather than create more issues by adding loads of content, I could put up with no updates till Christmas if it sorted issues. Then perhaps with no extra income till then the guys n girls that developed the content would make sure they new content caused less issues.
The facts are this... for people who actively use the theater system.. The TV's are activated one of two ways... Either the TV is turned on by approaching it actively or by using a remote. Specifically in the hills estate it was coded by remote usage. If they are altering, testing, doing maintenance on the code its logical that the seating would also be pulled out. It's a courtesty when developers 'pre warn' when they are doing something nothing actively says they 'must'. Specially with the less than poliete exchanges happening on ps.com what motivation do they have to do such a thing. Many developers may feel that its best just to do the changes and then let the community see whats been done. Rather than advise, have people STILL complain which is bound to happen as the community has proven. And the potential forum threads speculating not on whats being added but whats being taken away... Keep in mind users are NOT the only one's who have non-disclosure agreements when they are instituting changes and/or testing new products...
Come on Kitty. Don't blame the community. People paid for these spaces. Sorry but they are entitled to an explanation. The forum thread wouldn't be necessary if they had told the community about it. It's not like people weren't going to find out about it. Someone will clarify what has happened. It just simply should have been done prior to the fact and not in a response to those finding out about it afterward.
I fear the furniture may be permanently removed, they've even went as far as changing the wording used when you select the media tutorial to mention having the ability to customize the furniture at the theatre area, at least I believe this is new wording? Edit: Ok, just watched Carlas original tour video of the space and indeed the wording used has been changed...
Hun the fact is the estate is being changed. But rather than let the developer be allowed the chance to complete the changes people are trying to recreate drama similar to the rope thread that appeared on ps.com and making alot of baseless conjecture. As Heart posted on ps.com changes are happening and people need to allow the developer sometime to do their job. Change is said to be the hardest thing for people to accept in society... But change can be good if its given half a chance.
That is disturbing if they don't return it. You can't really recreate the furniture in the theater. That was a really nice set-up. Hopefully if users communicate what they want Loot will redo the seating without the remote. I'm more personally upset with the downstairs then the sofa/coffee table that was in front of the upstairs screen. Built in furniture is a asset when you are dealing with large spaces like this. Hopefully Lootgear will respond soon. I know I love the Infinity Pool given it has all that nice built in furniture which is tasteful for the most part.

problem is developers doing they job and changing or releasing new stuff equates to developers trying to get more of your hard earnt cash out of you, what happens when loot removes furniture then releases theatre furniture package for free, medium class theatre furniture package and millionaires theatre furniture package at a price, not saying they will but wouldnt surprise me
I missed this announcement... when did this become available, what free furniture are you talking about and where is it?
