When I 1st joined Home I was so excited about it, that I was telling everyone and anyone who owned a PS3 to join. However, in more recent time, I spend time on Home with friends wondering if I made a huge mistake. I love the concept of Home, I love a lot of things about Home, but unfortunately the things I hate about Home outweigh the good. I'm not just upset about all the common issues Home has, lagging, freezing up, ect...I'm more concerned about how the people at Sony handle these issues....they don't! It's as if they try to sugarcoat everything with updates instead of taking care of the matters at hand. I mean they must see all these posts about the problems Home users are having, or do they? The way things in the past were handled by Sony("The outtage", Waterfall Terrace), I wonder if any of these posts are looked at all, by those responsible for Home. I love Home, but I want to be happy when I'm on Home, not irritated because I freeze up, or lag, or have some freak glitch stop me from placing furniture in my personal space. Please Sony, listen to your consumers and fix the issues Home has now before you come out with new updates. I have spent a lot of money on Home, and feel as I am being robbed when I can't enjoy Home as expected. There are also many other issues Home needs to resolve, but I will settle with the technical ones being fixed 1st. Sorry my 1st post on here isn't a pleasant 1, but I had to speak my mind. P.S. Sony, I've been with ya since PS1, please make me wanna stay for the next console, Thank you
I think a whole lot of people are frustrated with Home right now, especially since whatever they did with last Thursday's "patch". It has to be a real embarrasment for anyone involved with programming after announcing that it would make for a smoother Home experience. All we can do is wait and see if they fix things....Sony never discusses any failures with the public (well...except for the PSN hack and they had to eventually reveal that because there were some serious legal issues involved if they didn't).
No disagreement, Slim, but do you know that this is a third-party site? If you want to address Sony (or at least try to), you might be better off posting in the official Home forums on playstation.com. Hereabouts, you're probably just preaching to the choir. I think most of us have, at one point or another, said some paraphrased form of what you've just said above.
Remember folks, its still listed as a beta for a reason. Additionally, when you have software that undergoes persistent updates not everything will work right out of the gates, its the nature of operating said software. PSH has a limited internal QA team, they don't have the resources to find every bug, and many, MANY times that bugs occur en masse happen to show themselves AFTER the final product is released without appearing (or consistently appearing) during the test cycle. Let's also not forget that bugs can be created after an update, which is commonplace for all software - nothing is perfect. (Idiom: Fix 1 bug, create 2 more). The more major the update, the more likely it is for new bugs to appear. Does PSH need work? Absolutely, it has it's engineering problems. But that doesn't mean Sony isn't working on it or addressing problems. It takes TIME, whether it be creating new content or fixing bugs. Personally I think we're all fortunate to receive significant sized updates on a weekly basis, especially considering PSH is a "free" application. -B
Can you imagine how well Sony would be doing if Home ran smoothly and and oh nvm. I think for anyone that hasn't put a cent into Home, yep it's free all right and they should prolly just accept it as is. However that "argument" or idea or whatever is hollow to those of us inputting real money to support Home. For us, it's not free at all. Let's face it, if no one put real money into Home you can bet it wouldn't be where it is today. Wow, what a terrible argument I just tried to make. I give. And give. And give. And hate Home. And love Home. And am all loco roco now!* *disclaimer: when trillian gets tired she gets a bit buggy too
Home is still better that its competitors but it dont make the issues right, a weekly update is just a rush to make money nothing more, but I think Sony also think its a perfect world out there that everyone has top notch internet speed and equipment and the phone cable and exchange is the best, the way they are allowing bigger more elaborate spaces when smaller ones have having problems seems beyond me. Perhaps when the hub fails to bring in the hardened gamer Sony can re evaluate home and take it back a couple of notches and make it a social application again
Home is free? Some stuff you still have to buy. If is free and none of the "buy buy buy" motto then am all over Home.
Home can test even the most patient of us. But it's nice to have when you take a break from playing video games.Lets hope the next Beta fixes some issues.
I think Home really needs to invest more and make Home have better customer service. There's probably just 1 guy for all of us. What they have is not enough.
