Nothing like buying a new unused game on it's release date then not even a week later having the pick of DLC that's $7.99 or more. Months go by your friends drooling over it still then you get the call, HEY THERE'S AN Ultimate Collectors GOTY Edition of your game in HD with all the DLC!!!! And your like WTF?! So your with your friend as they buy the Ultimate Collectors GOTY Edition in HD smiling as they buy it then it grinds you even worse, like an icy cold hand giving you a bitch slap you see the Ultimate Collectors GOTY Edition in HD is half the price you paid for the core game. Even worse, Gamestop laughs at you & tells you the copy you have is only worth $7.99 in credit. What are some games you were bitch slapped in HD by when you bought the original version for $60 or more.
lol Almost any game actually. Companies especially capcom has a thing about reselling the same game to the public. Some are nice enough to allow a year or so before bring an ultimate or GOTY version, but i'm sure it burns gamers just a little whenever they buy a new game & the DLC then the GOTY version is released at the same or half price. How about people that bought marvel vs capcom 3 & paid for the DLC $5.00 per extra character & a few months later ultimate marvel vs capcom 3 was announced, kinda burns you don't it. Then Resident Evil 4 & Code Veronica was released on PS3.....NOW they sell you the same game only an HD version lol. WOW

LOL it's okay. No i mean just share whatever games you bought then felt a little upset to find out there was a GOTY version with everything+ for the same or less then the price you paid for the original.
Capcom is definitely infamous for this, and it seems they have no intention of stopping either!! I would say it's the result of them releasing incomplete games, but I won't because they've done it too many times! Other companies do it too, but Capcom is the worse!!
Recognising Gaming Companies Habits Yes they are famous for it doing that quicker then any other company & when it comes to games sometimes it's better to wait, but you just don't know which game will get an ultimate or GOTY or when. I'm hoping games like Catherine will but i don't know. If not then one can wait for the price drop & get it then but certain games that won't have a GOTY & get a price drop certain elements will be locked to you. Games like Need for speed or DeadSpace2, MP will be locked to those that buy any EA games used. Capcom & Bethesda are the top two i can think of that does the GOTY but the difference between them is Bethesda will give you a grace period a year maybe then release a GOTY edition & that's it, no remaking the same games 3times no putting HD in the title. When dealing with Capcom it seems like it's better to avoid the 1st & 2nd release version & wait, if not then your chances are high of getting burned.
Agreed, RE:5 was Capcom's last sign of respect for it's fans, as it was re-released as both a game (RE: 5 Gold Edition) and the content as DLC for those who had the original! Now they just re-release the game with no DLC option, if anything new is added you have to buy the re-release to get it! Catherine may get a GOTY edition, I mean LBP did, but Catherine, is an obscure title so it may not, it would be nice though! Yeah price drops are something a lot of gamers wait on! As it's possible you'll get a great game at lower price! such as the Uncharted dual pack for $39.99, which is 2 times less than the 2 separate games retailed for together, had a gamer bought them both brand new, which totaled $120.00 plus tax (unless there is no st tax)
You know what's funny, my friend bought Uncharted2 GOTY edition a few months ago & now the Uncharted dual pack for $39.99 appears. Wait what about the RE: 5 Gold Edition DLC? It has all the DLC included right ?
Wow, I feel for your friend, are they buying the dual pack?What I was saying about RE:5 Gold Edition, was that Capcom, released it as a game disc and it's new content as DLC (which original owners of RE:5 could DL, the answer to your question is yes, RE:5 Gold Edition, has all the DLC included on it's disc!) which meant owners of RE:5 didn't have to buy the Gold Edition. Now for ex. Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes (Sengoku Basara Utage), Capcom is re-releasing it with added characters and new game modes, but their not offering it as DLC, so owners of the original will have to buy the re-release, if they want the new content!
Yeah, I honestly thought it was just a Street Fighter thing, til they did it with RE5 and now MvC3.. Capcom games are not instabuys for me anymore. I will buy them later on lol. But watch when I start to not buy their games day 1 they stop making "ultra" editions. XD and it's not about money either; it's the fact that now my previous edition is ruined(well, street fighter wise anyway).. It's okay to have gold editions but they are coming out too quick nowadays that it makes you wonder why didn't they just wait to have these features in the game(game modes; characters are okay as dlc sorta)??
Yea RE5 kinda annoyed me when gold edition released and now they release the Uncharted/Uncharted 2 GOTY Dual Pack which angers me >_<
Yeah, Capcom has done that since the SNES days... seems they had a few editions of Street Fighter 2 for it... I think I got the first one... then the Champion Edition came out... I'm like, OMFudgingGollyWTHeckBBQ!!1! I didn't get the CE edition... but I was sucked into buying Street Fighter 2 Turbo. :/ I think that is really the last time I bought a fighting game.
I'm not so much angered by the Uncharted/Uncharted 2 GOTY Dual pack though (unless they are offering exclusives for that pack?)... The 2 games have been around for quite a while now and it was worth the value to me. Who knows, the dual pack might get more fans into the game and make UC3 even more successful when that comes out. It's good to have a thriving community rather then one that stagnates into a small one.
WOW that would really upset me I think to the point where i'd just not buy Capcom titles for awhile. Something like that is what i'm wondering about MarvelVsCapcom3, the ultimate edition looks like it's been overhauled so what about the original ? will there be an update patch for it?
Yeah a lot of Basara fans are up in arms about it! (which I sympathize with them, but in looking at the game I knew it was incomplete, meaning all the characters had not been added, I'm glad I waited, even though I'll have to import it, I'll be getting a complete game) A lot of them are backing away from buying Capcom games! As for UMVC3, the same is true I'm afraid, the new content is exclusive to the Ultimate version!

Yeah, Capcom originally stated that the content on the ultimate version was meant for the original MVC 3 but due to the eathquake in Japan they had to make a game disc of it! I still can't believe they didn't put Silver Surfer in the game!, they said they couldn't do it because of his board, really? I think they just didn't want to take the time to do it! (that's me though)

It's possible, I mean, theres so many divisions as far as publishers go, but in the end I believe that it comes down to one person's decision, like is it going to be DLC or a game disc? yes or no?
