Hi all, After a log day of setting up the new social area of Your PlayStation Home, its time to get your feedback/ideas and also for me to start pointing a few things out on how things work and so on. Where is it? Your PlayStation Home - Powered By phpFox Also clicking on a users name anywhere on the site will take you to that users new social profile. Profile Feedback Would users like to keep both a new Social profile & the old forum profile? Personally i think just having the new one would be better and stop people getting mixed up. Login The login makes use of your normal forum login, this was email/password but to make it better and more common you now login using your normal username and password. Please note that users that have gaps in their using names or special characters will have them replaces with _ or -, if your someone with this problem, send me a PM and i'll edit your username to add in the _'s or -'s so your id works right. PM System Right now we have two systems, the new profile system one and the normal forums system, this is a side effect of the new system and I'm thinking of the best way to deal with this. Friends The new Social system makes use of a better Friends system, i tried to move your lists over to this system but killed the site in trying, so to be on the safe site it be better if you just re add people via the new system because i don't want to risk breaking something that can then not be fixed. Notifications New Notifications system has been added to the Social Site, Should be much better for most of you now. Photo Tagging Users can now tag their selfs and buddys in photos uploaded by their self or others, to do this just view a image and pick the Tab Photo link, you then drag a box on the image over a face and enter the users username in it and then pick save, and do the same again to add other users. When done when you mouse over the tags on the images it will come up with their names. More info coming.
I haven't really checked it all out properly yet, but it does seem like a good update. Not sure if I'll use the social side of it too much, as I'm terrible at the whole social networking thing. It definitely be easier to have only one profile to worry about.
I like it Carla. I don't want to lose my old PM's so I'm not sure about getting rid of the older one. I know some people have invested a lot of time with uploads and the like so maybe keeping it for a short time yet might be good so they can transition over. The new system is much better than the old one in my view although it does take learning something new.
I can add new profile areas also, so what other profile areas would you like to see added? Right now we have two main areas: About Me & Interests, With interests having interests, music & movies
I'm using a PS3 with the java script turned off because it reduces lag, will the notifications appear on the forum because i'm more in the forum instead of my profile page. I turn on the java script & try to highlight something, the page jumps towards the top making it impossible to select an option. Is there a solution for PS3 users that you know of?
I'm having problems with it... I'll see after using it for a few days, but I've had to reinput my login a few times. I also get notices of likes, especially after the macross concert. But when I click on the notification that I have new likes, it leads me to a new page with no likes listed. I like the "likes" list as it tells me what people want to hear. But I'm a bit confused how to check it now.... Maybe I'll be able to find it....Idk...kinda confused now...
Likes right now, output to the old profile page thats the problem with them, i need to get them to output to else where and then it will be fine. Login is likely due to me editing things to make it use your username and not email.
Right now the only way to fix problems with the PS3 is for Sony to bring it up to date and not 6 years behide, getting a new age site to support PS3 would mean taking the site down to its core without anything else.

I Personally Do Not Like The New Face Of The Profile. I Liked It How It Was. Is It Possible For Individual Users To Get Their Old Profile Back Set Up Like It Was ? If So, I'd Like Mine Changed Back Please .. If Not Then I Suppose I Can Check Out This New Format .. :dry:
Two profiles is a no go sorry Kim, just far to many problems with it, might be handy if you say what parts of the new one your don't like.
Due to the number of errors this added to the site and user interface problems, I'll will be removing this new system and returning to the old one. I would still like your views on what you liked and disliked because it really does help in making the site better. I would also like to say sorry for the problems and fuss the new system added, but here at YPSH we are not scared to own up to mistakes like this and to roll back the edits if needed like in this case. You don't need to "own up to mistakes". Doing the great work you do and always trying to improve things is no mistake.
The new system was/is worth the trouble. I understand it may have created issues with some but if you don't try and improve the site with features like this we won't continue to be the best on the net. Please don't apologize for all that you do. Anything new requires an adjustment. I hope it's not negative feedback that has caused you to reconsider.
Sorry To Hear About The Site And Interface Issues. I Was Just Settling Into The New One, LoL. As Usual, I Always Preferred The Old System. Change Around The Forums Is Good As Long As It Doesn't Cause Major Malfunction. The New System And Interface .. PROs - The Design - Profile Customization - It Definitely Was Different CONs - Maneuverability Around Was A Bit Difficult BUT That Happens When Something Is New, It Takes Time To Get Used Too - The Alignments, It Was Opposite Of The Old System It Was Good Overall. Not bad at all accessing everything with a PS3 This is from me accessing everything by PS3 1. I liked the photo album manager. uploading photos was easy even on PS3, That part was truly sweet S++ 2. Sending messages to 50 members. S++ 3. The option to customize my profile page S++ 4. The option to have only friends view content on my profile page S++ 5. Accepting friend requests B- (It's kinda annoying but nothing to bad) 6. More profile page customization options S++ 7. Twitter option F++ (something i don't need) 8. Selecting a feature & having the page jump C++ (because i'm on PS3 most likely) & turning the java script off & on wasn't a big deal. Honestly whatever C_B did, i could access 87% of everything by PS3, So that's not bad at all & i was kinda liking it to. I'm a forum junkie, I love adding gaming anime movie News I love adding pictures music & Blah blah, as long as i can access the forums easily with a PS3 then I'm good i'm a very happy vampire :vampire:
No need to apologize for trying new things Carla, but it was a commendable thing to do. Imo, you cant really thank someone enough for offering their time, resources and knowledge for the benefit of so many others. I think what you have done with this site is amazing....and the fact that you continue to add/try new features just shows how committed you really are to bringing Home fans the best site possible. The ever-increasing number of members here speaks volumes about the great work that you do. Thanks! :thumbsup: Unfortunately, I didn't get much of a chance to try the new system, but I've always liked the old so I'm all good with the switchback--you always seem to make the right decisions so I don't worry about it.
I would like to add that I mainly use the iPhone app, I don't know if this was a side effect of the new interface, certain profile pics didn't show up and loading while scrolling was slow. Since you stated that you went back to the old interface profile pics show up and the speed has improved
