Hey Community! I am curious what kind of public space styles you like best. We all know everyone loves FREE, but what combination of pay to play do you enjoy most? Midway? Sodium? nDreams? UFC [minus the random prize giving]? Mix 'n' Match? I want to hear your best ideas for a public space that would keep you coming back. Keep you interested. Get you excited. Etc etc. And think of it from a Developer view point! What would you pay for? What wouldn't you pay for? What about events based on certain times of day? Hourly events? Single player games? Multiplayer: co-op or versus? Leaderboards? What KIND of items do you want. Themed? Random!? Crazy, realistic?
yes but thats why they make home item's like cloths and apartments with games... so we can buy those. LOL! he he! But PAY TO PLAY is HOMES worst nightmare.... AWW! But some like those... Runs and hides...
Obviously I like it being free, but i definitely prefer buying an item that aids you in a game, over buying tickets to play. For me, I like having something to aim for. Since aurora launched I have been there every day (except the outage) earning xp. Vickie's objectives in the sodium hub was good, it linked a few of the mini games together and I like the fact that it has it's own currency system. Ufc card collecting game has been a pain, but my mild case of OCD keep me going back for the last card that I still need. I enjoy both single and multiplayer games, so I'm happy which ever way you decide to go. Leaderboards can be good, recently me and my friend were competing in sodium 2 to top our friendboard which was fun. But they can be demotivating when the scores/times become unrealistic or in some case broken. I like the sound of time/date based events. If I know things are suppose to occur in the space, my curiosity and OCD will make me explore and keep coming back.
Anything with multiplayer would be great. Updated: If you go with a murder mystery idea, why not make it to where the screen is black and white, the way to get into the game is to buy a costume(sell the costume in different colors, and styles.) The game could be a weekly thing where every week or 2 weeks there is a new story(have like 4 or 5 stories set up so that you don't have to worry about updating it for 4 or 5 weeks. the game can't be to short and if you want to make the story extended for that week by having it continue for the next day. people have to group in pairs of 4 together and play a role and try to not be blamed for the murder but also figure out who the murderer is(and the person who was killed could be just an AI) then if you want to extend it and get more money from the game you could add more costume sets for each new story mode(which could all be set in different eras, 60s 70s 80s 90s 00s etc.... or if you want the future era as well.) and to get more money from it have a personal apt. space for it and add rewards(please no t-shirts) for each case that is solved and make sure that everybody gets different rewards that one case(if the guy that did it was picked accurately then give him/her a gag gift) and the winner who choose correctly should receive the ultimate prize(I don't know what that would be but something amazing) what about a summer time there could be a BBQ mini game, water guns, maybe even a slide(some what similar to the one in loco roco island but with water) sell bikinis, swim trunks, speedos one-pieces, short shorts, etc. (From a friend)- have a RPG type space, again grouping together and going on adventures in the space have it include rewards like aurora, and also have it include upgrades they can buy early on(especially for the impatient people or the ones who want to get ahead quicker) if you want also have mythical costumes or elements like elfs fairies etc.
To be honest I don't think I would pay remotely to what you guys might want for a public space for the reasons of the many limitations Sony has put on home and what it allows and disallows. I would really pay a higher amount for mini games for around $9.99 max IF it was well produced and had decent game play, story, characters, plot if adventurous. Highly addictive with lots of achievements and trophies would definitely capture my attention. Higher probability of being bought would be if it were priced at $3.99. Anything above $10 would have to provide longer hours of game play, none the likes I have seen or think would be capable on Home. Another idea would be to incorporate a game that allows you to kinda "Tag" your friends and creates more interactive game play with your friends. Different style and genres, QUALITY, not some quick gimmicky game that will have me regretting playing it and giving Home some hope that it's moving in the right direction, and not just a place where Sony is being greedy and sucking in a lot of $$$$$$$$$$$ from players who have too much money to waste on mediocre products. I hope you take all this advice into deep consideration, as this is the truth on what I think and perhaps others share my views.
I like this idea XD. A mystery will get the old brain working and should get the community to work together.
