I don't wanna have to be the one to ruin the fun... but did I misread/ misunderstand this Rule: Your PlayStation Home staff can not enter or take part in other users entry's? just asking because I recognize a few avatars from the finalists pics as been YPSH admins, again I don't wanna ruin the fun but rules are rules... (Of course there's no sure fire way of making sure that rule couldn't be broken anyway so the rule didn't make a lot of sense to begin with)
When karen was setting it up i know it was said to have been they could take part in others but not enter there selfs. But the text karen did does read they can not take part at all. Pm me about the image and who you think it is.
The picture you are referring to is the entry from MsLiZaChan and yes, I'm in it. It was by sheer accident that I happened to be visiting her space that night. No matter, because I did not plan the shot, come up with the idea or take the shot. That was all Liza. When I wrote the rules, I said the YPSH staff could not participate (as we have done before). The intent of that rule was that we didn't think it fair that the YPSH staff should vote, help plan an entry, take a shot, or submit an entry. To the best of my knowledge we haven't. I don't see a problem with someone from YPSH staff being in an entry from a YPSH member as long as the rules are not broken. Next time around, I'll be careful to be very specific about how the rules are worded.
For full disclosure, Joanna is in the picture as well. The picture was taken spontaneously without any prior planning to enter it in the contest. At the time, nobody had even entered the contest. I thought that the picture and setting looked unique so I posted it to get the ball rolling in the thread. Since the YPSH admin is not actually involved in the voting process more than anyone else, I can't imagine that there should be a problem of unfairness. If people feel that there is a conflict of interest, please feel free to pull the picture. No offense will be taken. I actually wasn't sure if the picture would be eligible when I posted it but I decided to throw it into the mix anyway. Somebody had to be the first one to jump in the pool.
Thanks for the reply Karen, my intent with bringing this up wasn't to harm any entries in any way, and I just wanted to clarify the rules, you've done a great job of putting this contest together. I do feel as staff aren't involved in the voting process, the rule shouldn't matter anyway regardless, all finalists should be kept there as rules weren't really broken, I hope to see more awesome contests in the future and I do plan on entering the next one :smile1:
I don't think this problem really matters at this point. It doesn't look like Liza will win. So the point is moot. Rather than worry about this, I think it's better to celebrate the winner, and learn how to throw a better, funner contest again in the future. I think it's very generous that YSPH donates their cash to make a fun event for us Home folk. I wish NA Home would do that too. I am grateful for anyone who is working to make Home funner for us. I think the intent to make some enjoyment for others is a noble endeavor.
LOL I voted for you! AWW! And it was hard to choose. Was hoping for an official response because this isn't the officials forums...hmy:...but I did see another poll here that I clicked on "results" before voting and was able to see who voted for what. Unfortunately after voting I could no longer see who voted for what.
Poll's have a number of setting when you make them, like showing whos voted or not, letting people vote for more than one or not, auto close after so many days and that.
