I have come across a bug on home (same with friends of mine and others), When I won a reward on home my ps3 would freeze, Also with every attempt to sign on home it would freeze up just before I would enter a space, This is what I did to be able to log back on home, I used my Flash Drive to save my Game/Home Saved Data (Important) and I deleted Home along with my user name, Created a new user and used the same info Name/e-mail/etc signed up fo PSN using an existing account (the one I deleted) downloaded Home uploaded my Saved Data and was able to sign on home. I hope this helps thanks for your time A_Mc_Beer:thumbsup:
Awesome. I hope this works. I hope I have time to try it soon. ;D :taz:. EDIT: Thanks for starting a new thread since none of us could find the original thread that I think JPConway started on the 15th or 16th. Where did it go????
I had a fix in the old thread I think all you may have to delete is the Utility File, but back up everything else just in case. Also, make sure not to go back to Aurora or it'll happen all over again (or any place where you're given a reward upon arriving). I'm not sure how obtaining new rewards will affect it though, I haven't gotten anything since this started. EDIT: Here's the old thread http://www.yourplaystationhome.com/f2/serious-warning-entering-any-aurora-space-after-2365/
Thanks DD. Beer said his latest freeze was from Cabin Boy and/or Trigger Happy and therefore would freeze upon entering Home in any space, public or private. I don't know, because I am having a rough day and not focusing my best. I was just excited that a new way was found and maybe we are getting closer to a new workaround that might completely fix the error. I'm a little tired of waiting for Sony and their non-response. EDIT: That thread is a month old. There was a current one, unless I'm dreaming? :wow:. Also, I'm to chicken to try this today. I am way too confused.
I know it has been stated, re-stated and maybe over-stated, but I simply cannot believe that they refuse to even acknowledge that this problem exists. There are umpteen threads about it the ps.com Support forums and no reply from Management (to any thread there for that matter) whatsoever. It is disgusting me to the point where I literally cannot bother with NA Home right now. There is absolutely NO excuse for that kind of neglect and steadfast refusal to communicate with users. Like I've said before, greed and arrogance will always come with consequences and sure enough, they are suffering plenty now in all kinds of ways.....and they fully deserve it for the way they treat the people who make their company and products possible.
If this kind of thing is happening i might stay away from home for now. There's no way i'm deleting all my info and such.
I know what you mean Hopper... If I remember correctly, people were complaining to nDreams and nDreams recently tweeted saying something along the lines of "This is not a problem caused by nDreams but by the Sony servers, please go to their support forum to raise awareness of this problem" or something like that but yeah... They've had all this time to check it out and maybe do something, but to not even announce anything on it is pretty bad.
I have an HCV meeting later tonight, I might go ahead and bring this issue up there. I believe Glass stated he wouldn't be able to make it but someone there might know something about all this. Sincerest apologies to all of you who are experiencing these problems. It would drive me nuts being locked out of Home due to a rewards bug :/ EDIT: Make that tomorrow night. Conflict came up for Glass so he can't make it tonight.
I think thats been a problem with everything from the start of this whole mess. Remember when the network first went down Sony wouldn't say the real reason why? Do they have such little faith in us gamers to not tell the truth quicker? They must really hold there wallets tight. Either way all i can do is wait for repairs to finish.:stretcher: <---PSN on a stretcher...
I had similar bugs on PS Home version 1.40 in the beggining of the year, and I did the same, saved my PS Home saves and deleted PS Home to later re-install it and until now my PS3 never froze on PS Home again.
It has happen to me again, This time I tried a different way, I just deleted the Home file on the top "Game Data Utility" than signed into home with no problems... T'ill another random reward pops up.
Glass seriously needs to hire some programmers AND database managers to troubleshoot Home and customer service specialists that will be there to communicate with us.....
This is definitely a worrying issue. As I already get the occasional freeze every now and then while playing Home.
Yay just got this exciting new feature er bug. The support thread on the official forums is a huge joke really. IMHO it's a waste of time and more of a venting thing. I had just reached level 45 at Aurora and that award is what got me. It's weird I've gotten 35 and 40 and the duckings from the Baron thing and no problems until now.
Not you too, Drake. And I was just gonna say how I hadn't heard of any of my other friends having this issue, guess I was wrong. I saw you on tonight/ this morning P), so I'm assuming you got Home working again. What method did you use to get back on? Yeah I would really like to see more communication. I totally agree about the support forums. I think at one point a long while back there was actually some help there but I haven't seen any in a long time.
As mentioned in the other thread, I found that just deleting the Game Data Utility file sorted the issue for me. The only tricky bit was that I actaully had two of these files and needed to delete both. Once I'd realised that, all was well again. Still, I did lose the reward.
Is the bug only reward related? I was in Aurora today for the first time since the outage and it froze while I was trying to take a photo.

D'oh. It's not just Aurora. I have a growing list of spaces I cannot access. Conspiracy being the latest. Level 4 reward caused me a freeze last night. Let's hope the coming Conspiracy personal space (if I recall one coming correctly?) does not lock people out after they buy it like Aurora does. That could hurt JetSet Games sales (also)(too)(+)(maybe). :wow:
Ok here is what FINALLY got me past the Aurora reward freeze bug. I know some of this is repeated info, but I thought I would post this in case there is even a minor difference from what others have tried. I know I tried all the ones I have seen in the Support forums including receiving the Lockwood gift and none worked for me. I just hope this will help others, because I know how frustrating it is! This is exactly what I did: 1. Deleted Home Game Data Utility 2. Backed up and then deleted Home settings, script settings, character settings and Harbor Studio from Game Save Data 3. Deleted/re-installed Home (I set my cache to 12 GB this time) 4. Entered Home and got through the tutorial 5. Went to Dan's Tron apt. (looking like a noob in default clothes lol) and got the t-shirt reward for unlocking the other transporter. Yes, I got the reward without freezing...REAL good sign at that point! 6. Took a chance and went from there to Aurora public and to my surprise the level 60 reward that had been freezing me popped up and went into my inventory like normal......and I was off and running to do Orb Runner for the first time in a long time! WAHOOO 7. Restored all of the files in step 2 and went back into Home and everything was fine. The only thing I still need to try is getting another reward from somewhere tomorrow after having restored my files. I feel pretty good about it though considering the freeze that started it for me in Aurora is resolved. I'll report back with what happens..... Thanks again to Dan and Trillian for being so patient and helpful :thumbup1:
