Will you continue to spend blindly on PSHome or PSN in general knowing founds in your wallet knowing items you've downloaded could be taken away or even lost. How much has each of us spent on PSHome alone since we've been accessing it. I have friends that's spent thousands of dollars on PSHome just to have that new item. I never put much stock in PSN or any online system that's promises 2 keep my personal information my money. After all this i'll surely watch how much money i spend on data
I really don't care. The money I spend is from voucher cards, and even if it dissapears I will get my money back. I live in the Netherlands and here consumer rights are very well protected. So I'm not worried and I will keep spending money.
I would never use a debit card online. I know some do. I think overall credit card companies are pretty good about fraud. I've had my credit card compromised before by buying things in regular stores. Those numbers can be gotten just about anywhere if someone has the mind to steal them. Quite a few university students had their card info stolen. I would certainly use a different password than those I use for other personal accounts. That is a given now.
I will certainly not use any cc/debit card for Sony ever again. Once (if ever) the PSN comes back online - I will only use PSN Cards for any purchases - and even then - nothing like I used to. JPConway
Now what will sony do will they come back stronger or accept this shame put on them? This has convinced some of the loyaltist to cut back on spending there will always be issues when electronic cash is used in the virtual world.

I'm not saying after one incident everyone should be screaming the sky is falling the sky is falling, i'm saying after all this maybe be a little more wiser a little more cautious take an umbrella &be prepared just in case it happens again
Well for me anyway the use of a cc online isn't going to stop. I'm pretty confident that cc companies will protect fraudulent purchases. My online purchases are more based on the specific content and the direction that home is taking at the moment. I'm pretty picky when it comes to spending money on things but what happened isn't going to stop me from getting what I want. Will it affect what some do? Most likely. It's not going to change what I do at any rate.
if i want something ill get it, i am pretty sure that ppl are going to use psn cards now but some will still use cc if they have to. Just be careful and monitor your account.
I spend on credit card in several different places on net and they are all just as safe as sony, no company no matter how big will go beyond what the industry considers to be adequite security levels because they all what a bigger bottom line profit
I Might Have To Look Into PSN Cards As Well BUT I Might Try What My Friend Recommended .. If You Want To Add Money .. Put In Your Info Then After Adding, Remove The Info Again .. That Way The Info Isn't Logged Automatically ..
i am so glad i never put my cc/debit card number on on the system. i have always used psn cards and felt it was the safest for me. i have had my identity stolen in the past and dont want that repeated again. i'm not gonna stop buying from psn but i am really careful what i buy now. i made some purchases i wish i could undo lol but i think we all have. now i'm just waiting to get back to some online playing.:rolleyes1:
I mostly use PSN cards 99% of the time, so I'm not worried. Sure, I've used a CC a couple of times, but I deleted the CC info after I've gotten the funds I need. Given everything that has been going on, I'm sure a good majority of CC companies are on alert for their customers.
It's mixed feelings for me. In some ways I'd like to just stick with Playstation points in the future, but when it comes to my shopping on Home I tend to be a bit sporadic when I want to add funds to my account. So I'm not sure how well that'd work. When I first heard of the hacking and the possibility that credit card information was stolen, I deactivated my debit card - regardless of whether or not I really "needed" to. I took the extra step just to be safe, as well as put a watch on my credit rating to make sure any fraudulent charges would be reported to me. All in all it's frustrating, and while I'm sure PSN will be back up within the week; I don't know what kind of damper this is going to have on their service in the long run. I myself am not fickle enough to just abandon it because of the issue.. any way you want to look at it, it wasn't entirely Sony's fault - and I don't think they should be given the front of people's frustration and anger when the people responsible should have had better ways to spend their time. However; that does not excuse them from the personal data exploited in the attack. They definitely need to step up and make sure it doesn't happen again. It was a definite learning experience, one that hopefully will not cost us users greatly.
With the nearly two weeks of PSN shutdown time & every member of PSN disconnected, do you think sony will increase the prices to makeup for the money from users they haven't gotten & do you think it's fair if they do ?
