    yes a lot of my virtual friends from Facebook and Home are not amused about the situation. I just getting tired of checking my Credit Card statement every day to see if someone made a purchase with my card.

    Kilola, Just do what I did. Report your card as "LOST". They will void your current card, and reissue a new card with a new number on it. The old card in your account will become useless to the hackers.

    You will be safe. And you can forget about your card.

    I feel ya man. I called my Bank today for the CC that I had stored/used on PSN and they were very aware of the PSN hack. They immediately suggested that they give me a new CC number and send me a new card in the mail. Better to be cautious than sorry. I also changed passwords on a few email accounts (alt PSN accts) and other important sites I use (because I used the same for a couple other sites:blink:). I plan to do a bit more triage tomorrow. :stretcher: Best of luck to everyone.

    That was not necessary. Your PSN and your e-mail account password was never needed to be the same. Your e-mail account was never directly linked to PSN. I figure that out over 3 years ago. So my e-mail password is totally different from my PSN password...

    Actually, it was. ;) But I think I know what you meant to say. So, thanks. :)

    Besides, it's a loooooong story to explain that it wasn't email to PSN ID related but PSN ID to old email that my router is connected with. Anyways, I'm way to tired to think about it, but yeah, thanks again and okie doke. :p

    This could explain some of the reason why it's taking so long. Setting up a new high security database and importing data, then integrating it with all the other programs on PSN which need to be redirected, is a pretty big job. that's something that never works right on the first try. Plus there's lots of approvals from the higher ups which slow down the process.

    I bet that there are gonna be quite a few people who will not be able to sign on to their account/accounts when PSN comes back up due to this changing of passwords.

    How many wrote down their security questions/passwords *if this will be needed to change passwords*?

    I hope Sony realizes this when implimenting the mandatory changing your password and just gives us the opportunity to change it and not try to remember all that other stuff from before.

    Basically, you are going to have to change your password once you log into the new and improved psn.

    Q: When or how can I change my PlayStation Network password?
    A: We are working on a new system software update that will require all users to change their password once PlayStation Network is restored. We will provide more details about the new update shortly.

    I don't think that's gonna happen, personally I feel the best solution would be for sony to disable account recovery (as thats what the hackers would have to use to steal peoples accounts) for like a week or so at least, giving everyone the opportunity to change their passwords or other account details. If sony come up with a better solution than that then great but it's probably the best for minimizing the loss of accounts...

    Good thing is that once PSN is back up and we log in it's gonna force us to change our passwords. Time to think of a new Password *thinking*

    Let's hope Sony does disable account recovery for this new password change that we all have to go thru.

    If they don't - many Home "players" could lose all they purchased - PSN players may lose all their trophies.....etc

    IF nothing else - I am sure this has taught many to now record/write down all the "sign in" info needed - should something like this ever happen again.

    Okay - who closed the barn door? None of us can get back in!!!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

    I really miss a lot of my friends from pshome, I really hope that they know their information because its going to be crazy if they have to make new accounts and everything. I guess we will find out once we have friends that do not log on after several months, etc.
